-6 hours from Las Vegas
-6 hours from Denver
-3.5 hours from Salt Lake City
-4 hours from St. George
-1.5 hours from Moab
-2 hours from Grand Junction
-6 hours from Flagstaff
This is without a doubt one of the most incredible views we have ever experienced moon 🌖
There’s ZERO hiking required… Just a little roadtripping 🤯
Moonscape Overlook 📍
This place requires driving down a few miles of bumpy washboard roads to get to but it’s more than worth the trip! Depending on the time of year and weather conditions 4x4 is NOT typically needed 🚐
We actually went the night before to spend the night. Waking up here and experiencing the magic of sunrise is something that we will never forget! Hands down one of the best camp spots we’ve ever found 🏕️
-Getting there:
You will find Moonscape Overlook about 11 miles from downtown Hanksville, Utah. It’s located off of Highway 24. You will turn from Highway 24 on to Factory Butte Road and take this for about 5 miles. You will then turn right on to Skyline View Road which you will take for another 2 miles. This turns into Moon Overlook Road and ends right at the spot 🗺️
Again… the road to get here is tough but can be done in most vehicles if you take your time and go slow 🐌
Pro tip: Check out Factory Butte on your way out or on your way back depending on the time of day you choose to go. You will drive right by it 😍
There’s absolutely nothing out there so be sure to leave no trace. Pack out any trash snd leave this place better than you found it 🚮
