GVColor analysis on a Muted Summer!🩶
I had a session with my sweet friend Mary Grace, and she has incredibly low contrast and low intensity features, which makes her perfect for the muted palette. Her eye color is very warm and soft, while her hair and skin is more cool which is what landed her in Summer for her home season.
We talked about how she struggles with face makeup because it usually makes her look too yellow, and we ended up determining she is pretty neutral in undertone! The muted palette evened out her skin tone the most, while still making her warmer eyes glow.🤩

CAA while back I shared something that was super controversial, but many of you have since realized it’s true: lots of people doing DIY analysis think they’re a muted autumn or muted summer… then sign up for my service, only to discover they’re actually a true spring 🌸. And now they’re sparkling in their colours!
Here’s another trend I’m seeing lately 👉 many people think they’re one of the autumns (true autumn, muted autumn, warm autumn, deep autumn)… but their actual result comes back as one of the cool palettes ❄️ (true winter, cool summer, cool winter, or true summer).
Why does this happen? Because so many are matching to surface colouring—like eye colour or surface skin tone. But in professional colour analysis, that doesn’t matter. There’s no “does this match your eye/skin colour” check. It’s about:
✨ Does your skin look smoother, lifted, more vibrant?
✨ Do your eyes appear more powerful once your best colours are on?
That’s where the magic is.
