In a pushrod engine, it’s located inside the block and uses pushrods to move the rocker arms and valves. 3. Crankshaft Converts the up-and-down (reciprocating) motion of the pistons into rotary motion. Connected to pistons through connecting rods. 4. Main Bearings Bearings that support the crankshaft inside the engine block. Reduce friction and allow smooth crankshaft rotation. 5. Main Bearing Caps Bolted onto the block to secure the crankshaft and main bearings in place. 6. Harmonic Damper A device attached to the crankshaft to absorb vibrations and prevent engine damage. Ensures smooth operation at different RPMs. 7. Flywheel Mounted at the rear of the crankshaft. Stores rotational energy, helps maintain engine momentum, and connects to the transmission. 8.
