But what exactly is going on? 👇 Answer: You’re watching quantum levitation, also known as quantum locking. The black disk is a high-temperature superconductor, pre-cooled in liquid nitrogen (~77 K). Once it reaches its critical temperature, it enters a unique quantum state with two key effects: 1. Meissner Effect – the superconductor expels all magnetic fields from inside, acting as a perfect diamagnet. This causes levitation over magnets. 2.
