SL🧡Welcoming the newest family Member
Having the reasonability to take care of more than one child can be overwhelming and challenging to balance. These wee babies rely on us ALOT however, so do our other little ones.
These tips won’t solve all your problems as you are bound to have moments while you all adjust, but having some wee strategies in place can help along the way:
🍼FEEDING FEEDIND FEEDING
In the early days, you can often feel glued to the couch feeding your littlest love, this is a great time to store away a wee special toy box to offer your toddler and only bring it out when it’s time to feed the baby.
Keep it simple, things you know they will enjoy without your help. It can be as easy as finding treasures around the house, empty toilet rolls, pom pom balls, some things out of the kitchen. Rotate every few days (no pressure 😅), but this will help them to keep engaged.
👶🏼KEEP ALL BABIES NEEDS POSITIVE
Instead of saying, “No, I can’t play with you right now. I have to...” or “No, you will have to wait while I...”
You can say, “I would love to play with you right now! I just need a few more minutes to finish up something. Could you be my little helper? What fun things do you think we can do together after these few minutes? Toddlers are great at being mummy’s little helpers!”
By using this approach, you maintain a positive attitude, acknowledge the toddler’s desire to play, involve them as your helper, and encourage their imaginative thinking about the fun activities you can do together.
🕕ROUTINE ROUTINE
Try and keep your other wee ones routine the same. Children respond well to the predictability of doing the same thing at the same time every day. It’s very reassuring for them to know what’s happening next. So having this routine kept around nap/bedtimes meal times will help signify
💙BE KIND TO YOURSELF
No notes here, but remember this precious time is exciting and exhausting for everyone. You will have days that some are better than others, it just takes some time to figure it all out. xxx

PHResentment isn’t Power — 💔
But it does become your emotional prison.
While the intention might be to protect yourself,
In reality, you’re over-functioning for their growth process (which is their reasonability)
Sometimes, resentment feels like:
• Forcing accountability
• Holding them to fair standards of they didn’t receive any natural consequences from their actions.
• Keeping yourself emotionally safe by anticipating another betrayal.
But here’s the hard truth: 👂
Resentment punishes you more than it ever will punish them. Chronic negativity creates inflammation, mood disorders, poor immune functioning and general dissatisfaction with life.
Letting go of a past pain moment doesn’t mean:
• You excuse their behavior
• You forget the harm
• You drop your standards
It means:
You choose peace over pain.
Your partner will either:
• Grow and show you they’ve changed
or
• Prove they can’t be the partner you need
Either way, you move forward with a life and love deserving of you.
The truth is, we want more for you than the life resentment can offer.

If you have been around the @riseathleticperformance leadership team for more than 10 seconds, you understand what standard has been set.
We don’t compare,

With that, if your partnerships are real, you are going to be told you suck or you aren’t living up to your potential.
The last 3 months have been full of these conversations and they are very uncomfortable.
So why have them?
Well…true partnership, friendship, and relationships come with a high level of accountability.
ITS YOUR REASONABILITY, to hold your friends, partners, and colleagues accountable to the standard that has been set.
Don’t be disrespectful if you’re delivering the message and don’t get offended by the feedback if you’re on the receiving end.
Feedback is a blessing. It is meant to stimulate growth. Not to tear each other down.
At the end of the day, the team wins, or we burn this bitch to the ground together. To make sure we win, you have to communicate, seek to understand, plan, and execute.
No hurt feelings and no being passive.
If you really want to go as far as you say you do, these conversations will happen more often for a period of time. So make sure you get comfortable with the idea, and do what’s best for the group.
