NIToday I needed to hear Rick’s voice.
I’m working on the Jamboree and updating the Foundation branding on our socials, and it includes photos of Rick. Seeing them just really hit me today.
So I went looking for old videos just to hear him… and to hear him call me “Nic.”
This clip is Rick talking about the song that would always go through his mind when he was making arrests. It was an ongoing joke with him for years. Rick loved the movie Bad Boys, and that song just kind of became his thing.
Sometimes when he was heading out to make an arrest..or had just made one..he’d text me:
“Bad boys, bad boys…”
And we’d laugh because it was just so him.
Through the tears today, I’m still getting shit done… because everything we’re building now started with him.
But today it all really hurts. ❤️ l love you Rick.

CAThe Ford government is moving to take direct control at the top of some local governments in Ontario. The new Better Regional Governance Act, tabled by Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing Rob Flack, will allow him to appoint regional chairs, give those appointees additional powers, and streamline both Niagara and Simcoe.
Under the act, the province will also have the power to appoint regional chairs in Durham, Halton, Muskoka, Peel, Waterloo and York, as well as the warden of Simcoe County. Flack also announced he’s slashing the number of regional council seats in Niagara from 32 to just 13, including a regional chair.

ZARoberta Flack Featuring Donny Hathaway is the ninth studio album by American singer Roberta Flack. Released via Atlantic in March 1980, the album features posthumous vocals by close friend and collaborator Donny Hathaway, who had died in 1979. At the 23rd Grammy Awards in 1981, the album was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. The award, however, went to Stephanie Mills for “Never Knew Love Like This Before.”
Intended as her second duets album with Donny Hathaway (following 1972’s Roberta Flack & Donny Hathaway), Flack’s ninth studio album project became a Flack solo album with Hathaway as guest due to Hathaway’s death after recording only two songs with her. On 13 January 1979 Hathaway and Flack had recorded the duets “Back Together Again” and “You Are My Heaven” - the latter the last song Hathaway would ever record: after having dinner with Flack at her residence in the Dakota, Hathaway had then returned to his suite on the fifteenth floor of Essex House, later fatally falling from the window of his suite. #80sbaby #80smusic #love #fyp
