LESCD “chocolate” ice cream
Reel by my 12 year old
Ingredients
1 can of Native Forest Simple Coconut milk
60 grams of unmelted cocoa butter
1/4 cup honey
4 medjool dates
1 tsp vanilla
1. Melt cocoa butter in sauce pan
2. Then add honey and cut up dates to the pan. Cook about 5 minutes on low
3. Add coconut milk, vanilla and date mixture to a high speed blender and mix up
4. Pour into Ninja Creami cups and freeze 24 hours
5. Process on ice cream setting and enjoy!

THWHY THE SCD DIET DOESN’T WORK👉🏻(tap the ♥︎ if this surprised you!)
1. The latest research study (DINE-CD) published in 2021 showed no significant difference after 12 weeks between IBD patients who followed the SC diet or the Mediterranean diet.
❌Only 40% saw some symptom improvement, but neither group showed a reduction in inflammation.
✨The overall findings recommend that instead of a specific diet, IBD patients INCREASE fruits + vegetables. (I agree with this 👏🏻)
2. In addition, the SC diet is not that effective for IBD.
❌It restricts healthy grains which are important for gut health.
❌It recommends high amounts of animal protein which further burdens an already overburdened liver (more on the liver, the forgotten organ in IBD in other posts…)
3. It is extremely confusing to follow + not a sustainable long term solution.
❌If you need look at a chart to know what you can / can’t eat, it’s not a diet I subscribe to.
❌Lastly, this diet does NOT address the root cause of your IBD; it can temporarily help to improve digestion, but it is not helping to reduce your systemic inflammation + it’s not going to help you achieve long term remission.
