When I was a teenager I had really low self-esteem. I struggled with confidence, I hated how I looked, and I was envious of anyone who seemed to have a strong sense of self, and an effortless way of being in the world. People always referred to me as quiet, and I hated that because I didn’t think it was a fair representation of me. Infact, I’m pretty assertive, opinionated and capable- I just didn’t know it then! Looking back at the journey to see myself as EQUAL, these 3 things stand out: 1. Purpose - Discovering my strengths, my values/beliefs, and figuring out a way to contribute to the world in a meaningful way has been hugely influential in strengthening my sense of self. It has helped me find belonging, feel valuable and capable. 2. Friendship - friendships (and mentors) helped me see and believe that I am worthy of love. Feeling accepted and known, and safe to be ourselves is so important. 3. Courage - towards the end of my teenage years and into my twenties I started to take risks. I stepped out of my comfort zone, tried new things, moved away from the safety of home, met new people, put myself out there even though I often felt not good enough….and this hugely grew my confidence. I didn’t set out to work on my self-worth, but doing these 3 things produced self-acceptance, confidence, and a strong sense of identity. These 3 things are backed up by Adlerian theory. It is sign that you don’t accept yourself so you make everyone believe the version of you that you want them to believe. 💭Do you value your self worth by gauging what others think of you? How can you expect someone to value something if you yourself dont value it? Your worth should come from within. And you are pure gold 👸🏼baby. 💭 Are you indecisive? You need to seek approval or check how people react to your choices or decisions. 💭Do you find yourself comparing yourself with others? it’s a sure shot way to making yourself feel miserable because every person has a different story. So you compare yourself with other by just knowing a few aspects of their lives and completely ignoring your own blessings, achievements and strengths. 💭 Do you use a lot of negative statements when you do a mistake? “it’s all my fault.” “I am incapable of doing anything right” “I don’t deserve happiness” etc, these negative statements are not only false but by constantly repeating it you send the message to your brain that it is a truth. 👩‍❤️‍👩To Love yourself, you need to explore which parts of yourself that you are not willing to accept. Loving yourself is accepting yourself 100% with the good and the bad. This is Friendly reminder to you to begin the week ahead

What am I afraid will happen when I am myself? 2. Realise that your mind always tries to proof the things it already beliefs. So you don't see a reflection of reality, you see a reflection of your self-image in your outside world. 3. Reframe the negative beliefs into positive ones. 4. Look for evidence of these new beliefs every day. You self-image (and subconscious mind) can only be rewired through repetition. 5. Stop the narrative of the negative self-image, when it comes up. Why you are so self aware but still so stuck 👇🏼 Let’s see if this sounds like you. You’ve become HIGHLY AWARE of: 🐻 your shadows/what you need to work on 🐻 how critical and judgmental you are towards yourself and that it’s not good for you 🐻 how you play small and limit yourself And yet, being AWARE all of this information has done very little to actually change your behavior. You have tried: 🦖 Just “loving” yourself 🦖 Cutting out “toxic” people from your life 🦖 Spiritual practices like yoga, breath work, or cold plunges 🦖 Reading all of the books it seems like you’re supposed to read BUT… You are STILL STUCK doing the same things you always have been and you’re not moving forward in life: ♦️You’re still playing small, and not taking bold action ♦️You’re still highly self critical and judgmental towards yourself ♦️You still let people ignore your boundaries 😔And generally your life still feels miserable. At least compared to how you know it can be. Here’s what’s actually happening: 💡You are embodying SHAMEFUL awareness, instead of embodying LOVING awareness. And the truth is, you are so used to doing this, that even as you navigate your healing journey, you’re doing so through shameful awareness. ☝🏼Notice if it’s coming up now. Notice if you are judging yourself for not being aware of this. You cannot solve this from that place. You cannot solve this with more information. In fact, your shameful awareness THRIVES off information and uses it to keep you in a state of shame. The only way to solve this is to ACTUALLY step outside of it into a place of loving awareness. Where you can see even the shameful awareness inside you and give it an energetic hug. Where you can gently chuckle at all the parts of you who are just doing their best to help you stay alive. From there, you can let them know… they’re safe now. And they don’t have to do so much anymore. I love you 🫶🏼

Secret self-acceptance technique: 98% cry on the third step 1. Sit in front of a mirror. Not in the bathroom, not under “pretty” lighting, just in silence. The mirror should be big enough that you see your whole body, not just your face. Set a timer for 10 minutes. Rule one: don’t fix yourself. Not your posture, not your hair, not your expression. Just look. Not like you’re “checking yourself out,” but like you’re looking at a person who deserves to be heard. 2. Say out loud what you usually don’t allow yourself to say. Not “I’m doing great.” Not “I’m trying.” Real stuff: “I’m tired.” “I’m scared.” “I feel empty.” And the main one: “And I don’t want to fix this right now.” This is the point where most people freeze for the first time. Because your whole life is built on trying to become “better.” And here, for the first time, you’re saying: “I’m allowed to be the way I am. Even right now.” 3. The third step is the strongest. Look at your reflection and whisper the same thing over and over: “You don’t have to change for me to love you.” Say it 30 times. Don’t stop, even if you start shaking. Even if your voice cracks. This is exactly where 98% of women cry. Not because “the technique works.” But because for the first time they’re not demanding they be perfect, successful, grateful, strong. They just… let themselves exist. 4. After that, close your eyes. Hug yourself. No visualizations. No gratitude speeches. Just silence. Your body needs to hear: “This wasn’t violence.” The technique works not because it’s pretty, but because it rips open that loop in you: “I’ll get better, then I’ll love myself.” 5. I’ve seen women who spent 10 years “working on themselves” not even be able to say the third line out loud. And those are the ones who later messaged: “For the first time, I felt like I don’t have to be different.” That’s where acceptance starts. Not in self-improvement. In honesty.
