SMOne of the best-finished timepieces I’ve ever seen, dripping with details that reveal themselves the more you look at it. The new chapter for Simon Brette Chronomètre Artisans, now in precious rose gold, is nothing short of fascinating—a true horological masterpiece.
The movement, featuring a sandblasted main plate in a rose gold finish, somehow elevates the already stunning design seen in the titanium version. The blackness of the dial contrasts beautifully with the mirror-polished elements—such as the rose gold bridges and other components crafted from the same metal—and the warmth of the case. The “frosted” texture of the seconds sub-dial and minute track adds another layer of refinement, while details like mirror-polished concave screws set in solid gold chatons and exquisitely finished cogs elevate this piece to pure artistry.
One detail that caught my eye immediately is the visible ruby just beneath the seconds display—it’s an unexpected pop of color that I absolutely love. The new shimmering black, hand-crafted dial finish, called “Battle,” combines two previous motifs, “Dragon Scales” and “Tiger Claws,” resulting in a texture that’s bold and intricate.
Limited to just 50 pieces, this watch has already sold out—and it’s easy to see why. Absolutely spectacular. The year has barely started, and Simon Brette has already set the horological bar sky-high.
