It is bittersweet to say farewell to TEFAF 2026 and we are already looking forward to next year. Proudly, here are some highlights from the past eight days. What a privilege it has been to spend the week at the epicentre of the global art scene, surrounded by extraordinary works and meeting so many passionate and fascinating people, all gathered with one shared purpose… to celebrate the vast expanse of human creativity, unfolding from the earliest works to contemporary expression. Opening day at TEFAF Maastricht. I always love choosing something extra special to wear for the first day of the Fair. Today I’m wearing a collier I created especially for TEFAF, bringing together vibrant Australian Boulder Opals with an extraordinary turquoise and lime hue and luminous Australian Keshi pearls - gemstones that reflect the extraordinary colours of Australia. Alongside it, I’m wearing a sculptural floral Opal Ring centred on an important Australian Black Opal. I’m incredibly proud that this jewel has been featured in TEFAF’s official announcement as one of the outstanding jewels of this year’s Fair. Hello and welcome back to The Jewel Geek. It’s Brinder here, and today I am very pleased to be presenting Part I of my two part series exploring TEFAF Maastricht, which is one of the world’s premier fairs for fine art, antiques, and design. As I am The Jewel Geek, I highlight some of the spectacular jewellery exhibitors at the fair this year. I explore Hemmerle’s stunning American parrot brooch from their heritage collection, featuring a 13.5 carat old cut diamond with moonstones, rubies, and sapphires. I must say that it was one of my favourite brooches at the show this year, as it has such an incredible scale to it. I then admire a circa-1910 French platinum toi et moi ring with a Colombian emerald and an old cut pear diamond, which is presented by the glamorous jewellery specialist Kimberley Smith from Koopman Rare Art. The old cut pear diamond has a substantial spread to it, which gives the ring a bold look. Finally, I bump into the talented jewellery designer Rebecca Rau, who is based in New York, and we were both admiring a gorgeous 18th century lazo brooch from Deborah Elvira, featuring intricate gold work and emeralds. Deborah Elvira is a dealer in historic jewellery and is based in Spain. #antiquejewellery #antiquejewelry #antiques #jewellery
