ELThe word verdant keeps popping into my head - I think it is a longing for all things green and lush at the end of a wet and pretty dreary winter. I find myself searching for those little signs of spring - buds, little green shoots and some early blossoms. So today’s little experimental piece is an ode to spring greens. There was even a bit of sunshine to accompany it.
In this piece I have used only paper stencils and some small edges of cardboard as printing tools. I have varied the application of paint to add texture, and used different leaf shapes to give variety. I could continue adding to it to cover the whole piece of cloth, but this is enough to show what is possible with minimal equipment and a simple idea.
