There’s an old house at the end of Willow Street that never looks quite the same twice. Every time someone passes by, the number of windows changes—sometimes five, sometimes eight, sometimes none at all. Kids dare each other to count them, but no one ever gets the same number twice. At night, neighbors swear they see silhouettes pacing behind the glass, even though the place has been abandoned for decades.
One family tried moving in once. On their first morning, they noticed an extra window in the living room—a tall, narrow one that looked out into total darkness. When they shone a flashlight through, it didn’t reflect back. Instead, they saw themselves, but slightly wrong—their reflections standing still while they moved. The next day, the window was gone. By the end of the week, so were they.
Now, every few months, the house adds another window. Each one faintly glows from the inside. And if you look too long… sometimes, something inside looks back.
