YUIn 2026, what worries me most is not geopolitics —
it’s unemployment among people I personally know.
AI is replacing jobs much faster than it’s creating new ones.
And the jobs being replaced aren’t factory jobs.
They’re white-collar jobs.
Editors. Journalists. Designers. Translators.
Over the past two years, several friends around me — even former chief editors — have already lost their jobs.
Not because they weren’t hardworking.
Not because they weren’t talented.
But because the skills they spent years mastering are no longer needed.
AI isn’t just a productivity upgrade.
It’s a reset of how humans fit into the economy.
The old rule — “learn one skill and live off it for ten years” — is gone.
So what should we do in 2026?
Build three abilities:
the ability to ask better questions,
the ability to build trust with real people,
and the ability to make decisions in complex reality.
AI assists. Humans decide.
Preparation beats panic.
