I tried screen printing for the first time 🤯 I recently got a laser machine & screen print kit from @xtool.official and thought it would be sick if I could translate one of my paintings into a 4-layer screen print. And somehow, it turned out SO much better than I expected 😭 I find that as an adult, it keeps getting scarier to try new things in fear of failure. It’s almost this idea that I have to be great at any new skill from the start, otherwise it doesn’t feel worth trying. Which is weird, cause I sure as hell wasn’t afraid to try new things as a kid. Tada yay!! 🎉I finally made myself some gear to paint in 🤸🏻‍♀️✨Okay sooo, I learned screen printing back in college( at Pratt) and it was one of my favorite classes, but, wow yall, I forgot how much patience and attention to detail it takes 😮‍💨 major respect to the people who do this fulltime!! It can be messy, time consuming, but sooo satisfying when it all comes together. I printed some sweatshirts and tote bags to carry my brushes by using the new @xtool.official screen printer + their S1 laser cutter to prep the screens! they say “Have a Nice Day Paint Dept.” and yes, they’ll be covered in paint literally immediately but at least they started cute (plus, I made extras to wear when I’m not painting!) We have the S1 Laser Machine + xTool screen printer, and are excited to try it on other projects!!! I’m already experimenting with wood materials.
