Movement: Keeping your weight in your heels and using your hands in front of you as a counterbalance, lead down and back with your hips, then stand upward, squeezing your glutes and pushing your hips towards the wall, then come back down in the squat position. Benefit: This is a great movement for the glutes, quads, hamstrings, and calves and an overall phenomenal power movement for the lower body. “V Squat” or Hack Squat machine. Which should you use? Well, for Quads? Definitely choose the Hack Squat over a V squat machine The Hack Squat gives yoh everything you want for a great Quads exercise It allows for an upright torso position. Let’s you comfortably sit deep into the squat to achieve deep knee flexion. Allows for lots of stability All of which means great for training the Quads hard through a large range of motion which also coincides with all the things we would want out of a squat to help bias work towards the quads over the hip extensors The V Squat, basically does everything we wouldn’t want for a quads focused squat. Notice as Lauren lowers into the V Squat each rep. Instead of the machine going straight down and up. The machine actually pulls you backwards ⬅️ This forces the hips to back which leads to a far greater forward torso lean and far less ability to push the knees forward over the toes to increase the emphasis of a quads stretch Basically, you begin in a squat position lowering down Then towards the bottom of the rep it forces you into almost a good morning / squat blend as it takes away the emphasis on the knees to continue pushing forward and drives the emphasis into the hips back What this means is the quads are not able to achieve a great range of motion compared to the hack squat while also simultaneously putting you into a squat position from a torso perspective to place more work towards the hips. Simply put If you want to grow your quads with a great substitute to a barbell squat. The Hack squat is the best of the best. It does everything we want for a super quads exercise The V squat, although a type of squat machine. Takes away lots of the great things we want in a quads exercise and pushes more emphasis towards the hip muscles. Does that make it a good glute exercise? Well most likely better than the hack squat. Not only is this awesome because of the number on the scale, but for the following reasons: • This is the best body comp I've had anywhere near this bodyweight • My blood pressure is holding around 125/70 without blood pressure meds • I still have 11 weeks left in my course 👀 Once I hit 130kg (286lb), I can start calling myself a real boy 😂

📥 IF YOU WANT TO BE HUMBLED… TRY THIS EXERCISE… (1.5 Rep Hack Squats)! 🥵 • 🧨 Pro Tip - For even MORE quad focus, use a narrow stance! 🔥 • ⭐️ TRY THIS EXERCISE… (1.5 Rep Hack Squats)! 🥵 ꫂ ၴႅၴ Hack Squats are one of THE most humbling exercise exercises that I’ll ever do. 💯 ꫂ ၴႅၴ You can compare it to barbell squats with the motion of the exercise, but these are way more quad focused. 💯 ꫂ ၴႅၴ For barbell squats, you’re using your entire posterior chain to move the barbell up and down. 💯 ꫂ ၴႅၴ Even if you’re doing quad focused barbell squats, your glutes, hamstrings, and core are all going to be activated at one point during the exercise. 💯 ꫂ ၴႅၴ For Hack Squats, the machine provides you with support that barbell squats don’t give you. 💯 ꫂ ၴႅၴ There’s no need to try and balance yourself on the Hack Squat machine because the back rest already does that for you. 💯 ꫂ ၴႅၴ This machine also allows MORE knee flexion, aka your knees going over your toes, which ultimately puts more emphasis on the quads. 💯 ꫂ ၴႅၴ Completing the motion of the Hack Squat is humbling enough, BUT if you want to take it to the next level, add little half reps into the mix! 💪🏽 ꫂ ၴႅၴ Find a comfortable position on the platform for your feet. I would place them a little further up than directly beneath you. 💯 ꫂ ၴႅၴ Make sure your back is pressed firmly against the back rest. 💯 ꫂ ၴႅၴ Lower down to at least that 90° angle position. 💯 ꫂ ၴႅၴ Raise back up about 6 inches, go back down, then push back up to starting position again - this is the HALF REP. 💯 ꫂ ၴႅၴ You’re using your ENTIRE foot to push that Hack Squat back up! 💯 ꫂ ၴႅၴ CONTROL the machine on the way down. 💯 ꫂ ၴႅၴ Start with a lower weight at first to get the motion down.
