Here are two mixed conditionals that native English speakers ACTUALLY use in everyday conversations! This is Part 2 of the mixed conditionals video that I posted a couple of weeks ago, and since it seems like you guys really liked that video, I decided to make another one with two more mixed conditionals that you’ll actually hear natives use! But just keep in mind that, in order to use mixed conditionals correctly, it’s important to know what the second and third conditionals are in English, since we use both of them to make mixed conditionals. Here’s a quick recap of them: 🔹Second conditional = used to talk about imaginary situations that aren’t happening now in the PRESENT, and is made with the formula “If + past tense verb + would”: If it were raining right now, I would be sad. 🔸Third conditional = used to talk about imaginary situations that did NOT happen in the PAST, and is made with the formula “If + past perfect tense verb + would have”: If he had come, he would have helped me. Now, here are the two mixed conditionals I talk about in today’s video: 🔹Present/past mixed conditional = used to say that, if something was different NOW in the PRESENT, something WOULD HAVE been different in the PAST, and is made with the formula “If + past simple verb + would have”: If he were more disciplined, he would have gotten his assignments done on time. 🔸Future/present mixed conditional = used to say that, if a FUTURE event was different, something would be different NOW in the PRESENT, and is made with the formula “If + past simple/past continuous verb + a future time expression (like “next week”, “in two ways”, “in five years”, etc.) + would”: If I had to work tomorrow, I would need to go to bed at 10 p.m. Now, practice using these mixed conditionals in the comments! . . . . . #esl #eslteacher #englishgrammar #languagelearning #englishlanguage #englishclass #aprenderingles #apprendreanglais #ingles #anglais #speakenglish #practiceenglish #advancedenglish #naturalenglish #englishforadults #englishtips #learnenglish
