Trying to be perfect. If I can’t do it perfectly, or if I can’t be great, then what’s the point? Sound about right Open. Andre Agassi. There’s a part of the book when he asks a coach for some feedback and how to be better. I believe he’s essentially told to stop trying to hit every ball in tennis ‘perfectly’ and just play. Get the ball over the net etc.. ie you could have won that point without being perfect. You went for perfect and missed by an inch, lost the point. A non perfect shot would have been 3 inches inside the foul line, but enough to beat your opponent. Often in running, life, sport etc.. we talk ourselves out of things because we’re chasing perfect. You don’t feel ready etc.. but just keep getting out there and getting something done. It’s about as close to perfect as you’ll ever get, and start being ok with that. If you’re new here - somehow I dragged myself to a 2.09 marathon. Tu próximo Major, half, 5k, tu próximo PB solo son un % de eso que llamas felicidad. It’s not about hitting every workout perfectly, but about showing up regularly!! 2.A few bad runs doesn’t make you a bad runner. You’re not defined by your pace 👏🏻👏🏻 3. Mental strength is just as important as physical. Training your mind to stay positive and push through tough moments can make all the difference on race day. 4. Recovery is just as important as the run – Proper rest, stretching, and fueling can make or break your training. It’s okay to adjust your training plan when you’re feeling off. Rest days are so important!! 5. Fueling isn’t one-size-fits-all – what works for me won’t work for you and vice versa! Experiment with different fueling strategies to find what works best for your body I’m curious to hear what things y’all have learned from marathon training!? 🏃🏼‍♀️💖
