Tips below ⤵️ 1) Loosen your pedals. This allows you to get your foot out easier. As you progress and feel confident you can tighten them back up. 2) Practice on grass! Yes it might be a little harder to ride on but if you do/ when you fall it’s a lot easier on your knees. 3) Keep those brakes on as you unclip. Might seem obvious but it’s really easy to forget when you’re so focussed on unclipping. If you don’t the bike can roll, making it even harder to get off safely. #swimbikerun #triathlon #ironman #triathlontraining #triathlete

1) Swimming 2x a week is not gonna cut it. Without a background in swimming, you’d basically be relearning everything each time. It’s hard to implement form without actually being able to practice it. 2) learn how to flip turn, at no point during a race are you just gonna be able to stop at wall and take extra breaths. It’s not about the speed of the lap but rather the continuous movement 3) Not every run is an all out 5k, stop acting like a child who ate too much sugar. Slow yourself down, you shouldn’t be gasping for air typing out “easy run” on Strava. We all know why you hide your hr 🤧 4) oof this one hurts but save the coffee stops for post ride or for easy group rides. If you stop mid ride for coffee during rides with race efforts you are kinda screwing yourself. It’s supposed to be a hard ride and build fatigue in the legs, but stopping for 45 min to eat and drink diminishes this. 5) If you are going to drink, try to #1 do it the day after a hard session, #2 try to do it during the day. If you do it the same day after a hard session you are really gonna hurt your recovery. The day after is more manageable bc your body wont need to recover from hard efforts. Then try during the day as it may fuck up your sleep less, if you don’t get absolutely sauced. (You live and learn on these 😂) 6) Bonus. Pay less attention to your watch and your Strava stats. If all you think about is “this is gonna look good online” well then I guess you can be a Strava warrior. But… when race day comes and the results don’t line up in any way, what will be the excuse? Chip times are more valid than Strava times 7) if you don’t actually care about racing then don’t get offended by this post or feel targeted. And for those who swim, you’re allowed to comment on my form so long as you add how to fix it I also did not proof read this #ironman #triathlon #swimbikerun
