Being able to get up and down off the floor is one of the most important skills for healthy ageing. So when I say, “If you can’t do this at 55 then 75 will be hard,” it’s not meant to scare you. It’s meant to wake you up. This isn’t about fitness levels. It’s about mobility, balance, strength, and confidence… the things that keep you independent as you age. Most people struggle with this not because they’re incapable… but because they never practise it. The good news? You don’t need to be perfect. You don’t need to do it my way. You just need a way. Use your hands. Take your time. Practise little and often. Five minutes here and there genuinely makes a difference. And if knees are playing up, you’re not alone. There are other options, and I’ll be sharing those too. If you care about staying strong, mobile, and confident as you get older, follow for practical, no-nonsense movement that actually matters. #HealthyAgeing #MidlifeMobility #FunctionalFitness #StayIndependent #StrongAsWeAge

Strength & Mobility Leg Movements I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen people (dudes) with beyond strong upper bodies, but can’t do a proper squat. Lower body strength is a higher indicator of longevity. The stronger and more mobile your lower body is when you’re older, the greater the likelihood of you living longer. Don’t believe me? Look up the life expectancy rates of older adults within the first year after hip surgery.
