The girls know “hip thrusts are musts” when it comes to growing those glutes 🍑 and the key to it all is in solid form and glute-isolating technique. Here are some form cues to keep in mind: ⭐️ Feet should be shoulder-width apart and below knees at the top of the thrust. This will give you a 90° angle in the back of knees. ⭐️ Bench/back rest should be situated just below your shoulder blades. ⭐️ Drive through your heels - avoid trying to shift weight into the balls of your feet in order to press the weight up. ⭐️ Keep core active and pelvis level throughout the thrust. It can help to keep your gaze straight ahead of you. Do NOT excessively arch your back or flare your ribs too much. As always, be safe, train hard, and go grow those glutes 🫶💪 #gymmotivation #gymtips #hipthrust #glutegains #glutefocused #buildmuscle #glutes #lowerbodyworkout #gluteday

Barbell hip thrusts or Machine thrusts? 🍑 The age old Glute question… what is better for your hip thrusts? We have the barbell, our traditional method. The smith machine hip thrust. Available at most gyms now. Then the glute drive and booty builder which are slowly coming to more gyms around the world.. Which is best? Should you do only one? Should you use all of them? Well In reality… all are great options and work well None are an option where you think man, I am wasting my time with this Big key is firstly focusing on what you do have available over stressing about not having a fancy machine Then secondly, what ever you use… use it well with great technique and work hard! I use a barbell the majority of the time with clients. It’s simple. Everyone has a barbell. If it’s not broken it doesn’t need fixing right? Barbell is also great for the dead stop hip thrust as well as my go to on lower rep work. Anecdotally and a bias of mine is always a barbell is superior for very low reps because in deep “science” talk… it feels like a boss lifting for reps a heavy barbell. Simple. My way I tend to do things is lower reps on a barbell and then more machine options on higher reps 10+ and over Smith machine is awesome as it’s everywhere in a half decent gym and they feel so comfortable to load up The glute drive I love for higher rep sets. I am sure it works great for lower reps as well but my bias is certainly to it for higher rep sets I find personally and clients also say that going too heavy sets with the belt across your hips can become pretty uncomfortable on some people hence saving it for higher reps Booty builder is also a good option. Both myself and @laurensimpson both have it last on our list of personal preferences as it can feel a bit uncomfortable as well on low reps. But higher rep sets works well! So long story short.. they all work well. Choose what you have. If you love one and hate something else choose what you love. What’s your favourites??
