Don’t want to birth on your back but not sure it’s possible with an epidural?? SURE IS! 📩SAVE this to refer back to and SHARE with a friend!! Epidural does NOT mean you HAVE to lay on your back to labor and push baby out. You have options! And with the help of your partner and your birth team, you can accomplish it. Research has indicated that compared to a supine position: 👉 duration of the second stage of labor is shorter in an upright position (squatting, sitting, on a birth stool, in a chair, or kneeling) 👉 the descent of the fetus is aided by gravity, and the dimensions of the pelvic outlet are also INCREASED in an upright position reducing the chance of labor dystocia 👉 the need for episiotomies and assisted deliveries was also seen to be reduced with the upright position (Satone et al, 2023) Besides these benefits…being OFF your tailbone will help to open up the birthing canal for baby to get out easier and can actually help with ❌TEAR PREVENTION❌. Remember…hospital protocol is just that, a protocol. YOU get the ultimate say for your body and your baby. ✨From education to practical tools and exercises, I help you advocate for yourself and your baby. Through prenatal strength training, programmed labor prep, and full education on prepping for labor (medicated, unmedicated, or c-section) it’s all inside the MBC Prenatal Program! Join the thousands of women inside ❤️ ❓❓Did you know you had options for labor and birth positions with an epidural?? Save for your birth prep routine 🤍 Exploring different hip positions during labor helps your pelvis open and your pelvic floor stretch to make space for your baby’s way through the birth canal. Your hips play a key role in how your pelvis aligns and moves, which can improve comfort, efficiency, and progress during labor. Practice breathing and relaxing your pelvic floor while exploring these positions, because relaxation is just as important as strength- I learned this after my first loooong delivery. 🫶

Did you know the THIRD STAGE of labor is actually the most important stage for your support people to advocate for you? Your job as mom is to hold and enjoy your baby.. your support people’s job is to ensure your birth plan is being adhered to.. which includes making sure that no one is doing anything to your body of baby without INFORMED CONSENT. I hear SO many stories about women who had no clue what was happening to their body after their baby was born.. having no idea what active management is or why it was happening. Don’t be one of those people. Be informed. Check out my class Rock Your Labor (bio) to learn about what to expect in labor.. including in the third stage. • childbirth, labor, childbirth tip, childbirth education, birth support, partner support, labor prep motherhood, pregnant, pregnancy, preggo, preggers, third trimester, epidural, hospital birth, labor, labor and delivery, third trimester, second trimester • #pregnant #pregnancy #preggo #preggers #momtobe #birthpreparation #birthprep #birthpreperation #childbirthed #childbirtheducator #childbirtheducation #birthchoices #birthplan #birthpreferences #hospitalbirth #naturalbirth #naturalbirthing #waterbirth #birthcenter #thirdtrimester #doulatips #doula #birthdoulas #laboranddelivery #pregnancylife #pregnantandperfect #pregnancyjourney #expectingmom #hypnobirthing #hypnobirth

Most women are never told this… Pregnancy and postpartum care goes so much deeper than “just rest” and “drink water.” There are therapies and forms of support that completely change the birth experience — and I didn’t discover them until I had multiple babies. ✨ Chiropractic alignment (yes, it matters for labor) ✨ Nervous system regulation so your body doesn’t birth in panic ✨ Prenatal body helps that make pregnancy lighter ✨ Pelvic floor therapy postpartum (every woman deserves this) ✨ Ancient womb care + restoration rituals that modern culture forgot By my 5th baby… everything shifted. And I realized birth was never meant to be endured. It was meant to be supported. So I’m creating an e-book called: The Calm Birth Blueprint 🤍 The exact things I wish I knew with my first birth… that changed my fifth. This is for the woman who wants to feel prepared, held, and restored — not just survive. If you’re pregnant, planning, or postpartum… Comment CALM and I’ll send it to you the moment it’s ready.

Recreated my most viewed reel for my 100th post! These 3 moves on the birth ball helped me go from 5cm to 7cm within one hour in both of my labors 🙌🏼 Here’s how they work: 🌸 Internal rotation rocks Rocking your knees inward opens the top of the pelvis, giving baby more space to move down and get into a good position. 🌸 Kneeling lateral lunge rocks Rocking side-to-side opens one side of the pelvis at a time, helping baby rotate if they’re angled or not perfectly lined up. 🌸 Deep squat sways Squatting widens the pelvic outlet, and swaying encourages baby to descend lower into the birth canal. No ball? Try these on a chair, bed, or holding onto a counter for support. These aren’t just for comfort - they’re functional movements that use gravity and pelvic mobility to keep labor progressing smoothly ✨ Practice these during 3rd trimester to get comfortable with the movement, then do these DURING labor to help you progress. Movement is your best friend for birth! 🫶🏼 ➡️ SAVE this as part of your birth toolkit and FOLLOW for more birth prep, pregnancy, and postpartum fitness and mobility tools. #birthprep #laborprep #shorterlabor #movementinlabor #prenatalfitness #prenatalmobility #birthstory

What you do for birth prep matters. It may feel like it doesn’t when your birth doesn’t go as planned but it really does matter. Mentally and physically you can do everything you can to prepare for labor, and it will help you walk through labor more confident and empowered to listen to your body. WHO you put on your team matters. You NEED a support system during labor and postpartum. 5 years ago I got a birth prep course from @mamastefit . At the time it was to better serve my patients. 5 years later, my doula @holly_thebirthdoula and I used their labor education to help me in my own labor. My baby girl was what they call sunny side up and not centered over my cervix so I was stuck at 8 cm. We prayed and prayed and then worked on labor positions to help baby girl flip and SHE did and was centered over my cervix. I was able to have the unmedicated water birth I dreamed of. Next weekend, Saturday March 7 from 10am-5pm, @mamastefit will be at @bethechangephysiotherapy teaching a workshop for birth professionals. Teaching some of the very same techniques that helped me progress in labor so I didn’t need medical interventions.😭😭🙏🙏 We still have just a few spots left so DM me for a link to get yourself tickets. #birthprep #laborpositions #unmedicatedbirth #empoweredmothers #positivebirthstories
