Inserite in una ciotola le fragole tagliate a pezzetti e unite lo zucchero, non esagerate perchè le fragole sono già dolci. Per profumare la confettura unite la scorza di limone e la bacca di vaniglia. I semi teneteli da parte perchè saranno da aggiungere alla frolla. Lasciate quindi macerare il tutto. Per la frolla unite la farina e lo zucchero a velo, che aiuterà per avere la giusta consistenza. Aggiungere anche i semi di vaniglia, la scorza di limone, un pizzichino di sale e una puntina di lievito. Iniziate con la sabbiatura con movimenti decisi delle mani, dovete ottenere un impasto granulare. Ora è il momento di incorporare i liquidi, aggiungete un tuorlo e un uovo intero. Iniziate a impastare con molta delicatezza fino a ottenere un panetto morbido. Lasciatelo quindi freddare per due ore in frigo. Nell’attesa che il panetto di frolla si freddi in frigo, potete cuocere le fragole macerate con il loro liquido per circa un’ora, mescolando di tanto in tanto. Per avere una frolla perfetta, vi consiglio di lavorare tutto a freddo. Ricavate un pezzo di panetto per le strisce e rimettetelo in frigo.
