THwhat most people underestimate
is how much it relies on TRUST.
Not the casual “watch my bag” “hold my purse” kind of trust…
the very real “I’m about to stand on your hands with the confidence that you will protect my life” kind.
And that goes deep.
Every stunt group is constantly reading each other in real time.
It’s quite magical actually.
Bases are feeling:
• how the flyer loads into their hands
• whether the timing is early or late
• how tight the body position is
Flyers are feeling:
• whether their bases are settled underneath them
• if the stunt is stacked correctly
• how stable the group feels before they even hit the skill
None of that communication is verbal.
It’s built through hundreds of shared reps,
where athletes learn each other’s timing, tendencies, and corrections.
Over time,
stunt groups will absolutely recognize each other’s patterns.
They know each other’s technique and behaviors.
They anticipate adjustments before they even need to be called.
That’s when stunts start to look effortless.
Not because the skill got easier,
but because the athletes trust exactly what the people around them are going to do.
Therein lies the magic.
They feel it.
Then we all feel it.
Because when a stunt group truly trusts each other?
They stop hoping the stunt will hit.
They expect it to.
