💥 FADIR TEST 💥 This test is designed to rule in intra-articular hip pathology, and is performed by Flexion, ADduction, Internal Rotation of the hip — hence the name FADIR. Whilst it has fairly high sensitivity, it has rather low specificity. Femoroacetabular (hip) impingement, labral tears, and associated groin pain can be provoked and therefore it is difficult to diagnose from a positive test. Combining other subjective and objective history can improve diagnosis accuracy, with imaging the gold standard. #hippain #groinpain #hipimpingement #hipinjury #physio

Here are my 3 hacks to help yourself: 1️⃣ Foam Roller Squeeze - Put it between your knees and squeeze for 10 seconds 2️⃣ Foam Roller Squeeze upgraded - put the roller between your ankles and squeeze. 3️⃣ Towel slide - use a towel on the floor to gently slide away from your body in a slow and controlled manner. 🤨 Want an exercise that gives you a ton of bang for your buck??? 🤣 Want an exercise to humble you? 🦵The Copenhagen plank is one of the hardest body weight exercises IMO, it seems relatively simple and straightforward- but that doesn’t mean it’s easy!!! ↪️ if you’re new to these, scoot closer to the bench and try it with the top leg bent at first to build up the groin strength! 💪 Adding the reverse fly component adds in a little extra shoulder strengthening (another one of those underrated and undertrained areas!) I like to program 3-4 sets of 8-12 reps of these on both sides! I do some version of Copenhagen’s at least once or twice a week! 🤩 Have you tried this? What did you think? Groin rehab: you’re probably doing it wrong. ⠀ The reason it feels so good to stretch your inner thigh is because we don’t move in the frontal plane of movement often. All that means is we ignore side-to-side work and perform most movements straight ahead (think walking, squatting, deadlifting, etc). The key is to begin strengthening early in the rehab process instead of making the classic mistake of stretching early and often! ⠀ These 3 exercises provide a nice mix of isometric and dynamic strengthening along with a bit of controlled stretching. ⠀ 1️⃣ Bridge Iso w/Squeeze & Alt. Extension: This exercise targets isometric strengthening of the adductor/groin muscles. Fight to keep your hips from typing as you do the bridge. Shoot for 2-4 sets of 5-15 repetitions. ⠀ 2️⃣ Half Kneel Warrior: This exercise is about range of motion or stretch to multiple muscles in the adductor group. Small range of motion will be plenty here. Shoot for 2-4 sets of 6-12 repetitions. ⠀ 3️⃣ Alternating Drop-Step Lunge: This exercise provides strengthening and striving for the adductors. Keep a proud chest and open up the hips to step open and back.
