La H-wave thérapie est une sorte d’électrothérapie. Cet appareil permet une plus grande et plus profonde pénétration d’un courant d’intensité moindre dans les tissus que l’électrothérapie classique. Cela permet de limiter l’inconfort de l’animal et la fatigue musculaire.
L’appareil est utilisé avec une fréquence de 2Hz pour stimuler les muscles et réduire les contractures. Via cette stimulation musculaire, le retour veineux et le drainage lymphatique sont stimulés et les potentielles toxines sont évacuées. Cela peut également être utile pour réduire les œdèmes et stimuler le processus de prolifération.

GEGetting hands on with electrotherapies for the first time this morning! Electrotherapies have always fascinated me when it comes to physiotherapy and being able to learn how to apply them and use them today on some of the horses was amazing! It just goes to show how advances in modalities like these can impact equine and canine musculoskeletal health.
In this video H wave is being used to help improve lymphatic flow within oedemic gluteals.

One of the great aspects of the daily workload here at TRS is supporting coaches and teams across a pretty wide spectrum of sports.
Last week, I had the pleasure of accompanying a University Water Polo team to a training camp in Greece as their physio and surrogate strength coach. We’ve actually been to quite a few training camps both personally and professionally over the years, and we love the stripped-down, essentialist, monk-like life that these camps create.
It’s also really fun to be part of a stellar cast of coaches who also get to live the training dream alongside the athletes.
Alongside the normal sport coaches, the team consisted of a world class athletic training (think public health and emergency care of 30 people) and performance psychologist.
Oh, and yes, Greece is amazing.
