ZEAbout PNPs in Canada 🇨🇦
PNP means Provincial Nominee Program
There are 2 types of PNPs:
1. Express Entry PNPs (aligned with the Express Entry system)
Requires the applicants have an active profile in the Express Entry pool and be eligible under 1 of the main Express Entry programs which are;
1. FSWP (Federal Skilled Worker Program)
2. CEC (Canadian Experience Class)
3. FST (Federal Skilled Trades)
However, there are exceptions to this where some provinces issue nominations to applicants who do not have Express Entry eligibility. These programs vary in their eligibility requirements, so it is best to first understand their criteria before applying.
2. Non Express Entry PNPs
Requires the applicant to meet that particular PNP program requirements. If the PNP is not aligned with Express Entry, the federal permanent residency application must be submitted through a different portal, or by paper, which is specifically designed by the Procincial Government.
