Being a parent is one of the most beautiful and challenging things you’ll ever do. And life with a newborn, whether it’s your first or fourth baby, begins with a blur of love, snuggles, and wondering, “Will this ever get easier? Will I ever sleep again?” (Spoiler alert: It will. And you will).  For now, lower the bar. Reset your expectations to meet you where you are in this moment - exhausted and so in love. Your baby doesn’t need a curated nursery or spotless counters. Being present enough to meet their needs (even when you’re covered in spit-up at 3 AM and everything feels hard) is more than enough.  Want more tips for navigating life with a newborn? RSV has been around for decades. What’s new is the multi-generation immunization strategy. In 2023, RSV vaccines were approved for adults and pregnant women. In 2024, Moderna rolled out an mRNA RSV vaccine for older adults. There’s also a monoclonal antibody offered to infants. Different products. Different age groups. Different mechanisms. If you’re going to make a decision for yourself or your child, you should at least understand the differences. Most healthy children experience RSV like a cold. Severe cases do happen especially in premature or medically fragile infants and context matters. Clarity > fear. Mechanism > marketing. I break this down deeper inside my Skool community The Healthy Truth. Message me the word TRUTH and I’ll send you an invitation. Inside you’ll get downloadable PDF guides on every single childhood vaccine, natural remedies for colds/flus and ear infections as well as weekly coaching calls and more. #health #healthy #love #holisticparenting #ParentingSupport

You love your kid. That’s not the question. The question is: Are you building the skills they’ll need later or just surviving today? What we ignore now doesn’t disappear. It grows. Big feelings become big blow-ups. No patience becomes quitting. Poor communication becomes hiding or exploding. You don’t have to be perfect. Just intentional…while it still matters most. #positiveparenting #parentingadvice #parentingtips #parentcoach #parentingsupport

follow @thepositiveparenting to become a positive parent A child reaches for something… and it all falls. Before anyone reacts, he says sorry. Not because he did something wrong— but because he’s afraid of the reaction. That moment says everything. Children don’t just respond to what happens. They respond to what they expect will happen next. If they expect anger or shame, they learn: “I’m a problem when I make mistakes.” But when they’re met with calm, they learn: “It was an accident… and I’m still safe.” It’s not the mistake that shapes them. It’s how we respond to it. Growth doesn’t come from perfection. It comes from feeling safe, even in messy moments. credit @amberaxtellphotography 💛💛 #CalmParenting #GentleParenting #ParentingTips #EmotionalSafety #ConsciousParenting #ChildDevelopment #SecureAttachment #PositiveParenting #ParentingMindset #BreakTheCycle #RaisingResilientKids #ParentingSupport #ADHDParenting #ParentingLife #KidsEmotions

SEND THIS to your partner so you both remember to use this hack next time your kid gets aggressive ➡️ Push Me Over This is similar to my viral “Blow Me Over” strategy, but this time you’re helping your child kick safely. When your child starts kicking and thrashing their arms and legs, grab their feet and place them on your shoulders. Say calmly, but firmly “Push me over with your legs when I get to three.” Then count “1, 2, 3 push!” The key: don’t let go of your child’s feet! Keep your hands firmly on their feet so you don’t accidentally get kicked in the face. You can do this several times until your child is more regulated and can access their logical brain to talk about the anger. As with all of the regulation strategies I recommend, it’s ideal to teach this to your child when she is regulated. Then the next time she’s kicking and screaming, it’s something she is already familiar with (and maybe even thinks is fun & funny)! If you’re thinking that letting your child kick when they’re mad is not how you want your child to handle their anger, hear me out… 1️⃣ We can’t regulate feelings that we aren’t allowed to feel. Letting your child kick is helping her FEEL her feelings (rather than immediately expecting her to be calm). 2️⃣ If your child is already kicking, her body likely needs to kick and push to let out the anger. Letting your child do what her body actually needs helps her tune into her body’s signals and honor her needs. This helps kids develop emotional awareness and self-compassion 3️⃣ You’re keeping your child safe and yourself safe while also co-regulating so your child can feel, express, and move through their feelings 4️⃣ Children are only able to develop self-regulation skills when they experience co-regulation. Doing silly little strategies like Push Me Over is the foundation to helping your child not kick their little brother next time she’s mad. If you’re new here I’m Rachel, a child therapist and mom of two. I love teaching parents simple, playful ways to help their kids have less meltdowns, tantrums, and power struggles. #parentingsupport #parenting #playthera

POV: You’ve tried counseling and medication—but you know your child could be happier. 💔✨ Big emotions start in the brain. When different areas don’t work together, kids struggle with regulation—and the whole family feels it. 💡 Brain Balance strengthens brain connectivity through sensory, motor, and cognitive exercises—helping kids calm their emotions, recover faster, and feel happier day to day. Worth’s mom saw the difference: “Worth had been seeing a counselor and tried lots of medications. We saw improvements, but I knew he was capable of more. Since starting Brain Balance, his emotionality is a lot less intense.” If you know your child could be doing better, Brain Balance may be the missing piece. It is easy to slip into permissive parenting and most of the time, it doesn’t come from not caring. It comes from being tired, overstimulated, rushed, embarrassed in public, or just not wanting to deal with one more meltdown. So we say yes after already saying no. We add one more book. One more episode. Five more minutes at the park. We let the crying change the answer. We clean it up ourselves because it feels faster. We call it keeping the peace, but over time it can create more power struggles, not less. That is the difference between permissive and authoritative parenting. Permissive parenting changes the limit to stop the protest. Authoritative parenting holds the limit and helps a child through the protest. This shift is huge. When boundaries keep moving, kids learn to keep pushing to see where the line really is. But when boundaries are clear and steady, kids learn safety, predictability, frustration tolerance, and trust in your leadership. You do not need to memorize the exact scripts in this reel. What matters most is understanding the why behind the shift, so when your child pushes back with tears, protest, or a tantrum, you can respond with empathy and still hold the boundary. Authoritative parenting is the gold standard because it makes room for both warmth and leadership. That is where growth happens. If this reel resonated and you want more on the parenting style that best reflects this balance of warmth, boundaries, and autonomy, check out my newsletter issue, “This May Be My Favorite Parenting Style: The Lighthouse Approach,” for more on how to guide kids without over-controlling them.
