DRConsidering at home peels? Listen up, guys. This peeling solution from The Ordinary is one of the strongest peeling solutions you can get at home. Sometimes a higher % isn’t necessarily better for the skin, and rather than boosting the potency it just increases your risk for irritation. We see this with vit C, niacinamide, and certainly with peeling solutions like this one. So if you have sensitive skin, think twice before using this at home peel!
If you’re going to try it, here are some tips: first protect the skin around the eyes, corners of your nose and lips with a balm or ointment. Leave it on for 5-10 minutes max, then wash it off and moisturize. This is a once a week kind of thing, at MOST. Don’t overdo it. And if it starts to burn, wash it off right away. I’ve seen hyperpigmentation and burns from leaving it on too long.
