Some anxiety begins on the day we’re born. Firstly: C-sections save lives. This is not about blame. And it’s not about doing anything wrong. Sometimes they are absolutely necessary. But birth isn’t just physical. It’s neurological. The journey through the birth canal creates a wave of compression and decompression. That pressure activates cranial rhythm. Stimulates lymphatic flow. Supports the first full exhale. It teaches the nervous system: “I can go through pressure and release.” When that pressure cycle is bypassed, like in a C-section, the body adapts. It survives beautifully. But sometimes it learns to hold instead of fully exhale. Years later that can show up as: • anxiety • restlessness • overthinking • difficulty down-regulating Not because someone failed. Not because something is broken. Sometimes it’s simply stored pressure. The nervous system doesn’t track time the way the mind does. When the body feels safe, it can complete what it didn’t get to finish. This is gentle cranial and fascial regulation work. No force. No fixing. Just safety. I bought all the calm things.. Books about breathing and meditation. The cutest Yoga card decks. 🧘🏼‍♀️ I pictured soft music and weighted pillows for peaceful transitions.. HA. I should’ve saved my money for an extra bouncy couch, monkey bars in every room, and padded walls for high-speed collisions. Turns out regulation does not always mean calm. And what relaxes one child, overwhelms another. It seems obvious as I write it but it wasn't always obvious to me. When I choose silence, he chooses loud, driving EDM. Stillness helps me focus, jumping up and down helps him. I might want a calm hug, whereas he wants deep -crushing- pressure lol. We are opposites in so many ways and it teaches me so much. What helps regulate your kiddos? #neurodivergent #regulation

Here’s what I tell them… Eagles don’t use just one kind of vision. They can switch between 🔍 laser-sharp focus (locking onto prey) and 🌄 wide, soaring vision (taking in the whole landscape) And we’re actually the same. When anxiety kicks in, your brain goes into hunt mode. Everything zooms in: * that thought * that feeling * that one situation It feels intense, urgent and often all consuming. If we then tell teens to “just sit with it”, no wonder it feels overwhelming. So instead, I explain mindfulness like this… It’s about learning how to shift gears. To open up and come out of laser mode into soaring mode. Where you can still see the anxiety…but you can also see: * the rest of your life * the bigger picture * a bit of space around it The aim is not getting rid of the feeling. Release your jaw, and completely transform your face 🙌🏼✨ Most people don’t realise how much tension they’re holding in their jaw. Clenching, grinding, stress, long hours on screens, and trauma or grief can build up in the jaw. Over time, that tension shortens and thickens the masseter muscle, creating a bulkier jaw, tight fascia, and even jaw pain. And this can completely change the appearance of your face. A tight jaw can make the lower face look wide and heavy. It can slow lymph flow, so fluid and toxins don’t move as easily, leading to unwanted puffiness. Constant pressure through the tissues can push everything slightly in and down, contributing to a loss of definition in the lower face, deeper nasolabial folds, and the appearance of jowls. At the same time, blood flow becomes restricted. Skin can start to look dull, flat, and a little lifeless. But it’s not just physical. The jaw is one of the places we store stress. When it’s constantly held, your body stays in a subtle state of tension. That low-level “on edge” feeling that keeps you in survival mode without even realising. When you start to work with the jaw consistently and intentionally, everything begins to shift. You bring fresh blood flow into the area, helping to brighten and revive the skin. You create space for lymph to move, supporting a natural de-puffing effect. The muscles soften, the face feels lighter, and you begin to see a subtle lift and more tone. Lines soften, skin looks more plump, and your whole face feels more open. But beyond that, there’s a deeper release. As the physical tension melts, emotional residue starts to shift too. It can feel like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders, bringing a sense of relief you didn’t even realise you needed.
