I’d skipped this session earlier in the week with a tight calf, but everything’s been feeling good again and my confidence is back... Today’s progressive run: • 3km easy at 5:00/km (12km/h) • 2km at 4:15/km (14.1km/h) • 2km at 4:00/km (15km/h) • 2km at 3:50/km (15.7km/h) • 90 sec rest • 2km easy at 5:00/km (12km/h) It was exactly what I needed - sometimes the best sessions are the unplanned ones. 🤜🤛

5 key changes that improved my half marathon from 1:45 to 1:22 in 6 months that you can do too! 1️⃣ Volume. Increased from 3x 30mins jog in a week, upgraded to 3x 60 mins jog + 2 workouts +1 long run + a rest day. (Increase gradually & painfree only!) 2️⃣ Workouts. Incorporated running workouts with lots of variation. Like 15(1/1) and 3(15/2). Gym. I went from zero to 2x per week 45 mins strength and core. 3️⃣ Food. Eat WAY more and high quality foods. More proteins & veggies, include protein shakes and probably 2x more carbs vs before in my case. 4️⃣ Sleep. I went from c5 hours to 8-9. It was a project. Building healthy sleep habits. (“Why we sleep” = great book) 5️⃣ Change priorities and make the time for both training and recovery. Puma Fast-RB for a fun Friday 10k (almost 🤣)…🔊 Did you know the “RB” in Fast-RB stands for Rule Breaker - because of their insane stack height, these shoes aren’t technically “legal” for professional racing. Luckily, I’m not a pro - because they’re good fun 😝. The only real downside is the lack of laces, which makes it hard to get a truly secure lockdown. I also used to call them the Troll Catchers. Every time I posted about them, the comments would flood in - how ridiculous they look, how they sound like a horse, or how much people hate them. Always makes for an entertaining read 🎣🧌 What do you think - 🔥🔥 or ❄️❄️

One year ago today, I was on crutches with a pelvic stress fracture. At the time, I truly believed my competitive running journey was over once I graduated. After a year of injury after injury, I didn’t think my body could stay healthy enough to keep going. I worked every day just to get back to running, but I wasn’t sure I could ever go through that process again. Fast forward to today… I’m healthier and stronger than I’ve been in a long time- and I just won my first race since graduating. This year taught me something important: your journey doesn’t end just because things don’t go to plan. You don’t have to be a professional athlete or running the fastest times for it to matter. Running gives me so much more than just the physical side. It teaches discipline, resilience, patience, and belief in yourself when things get hard. And the running community is something really special, people who support you through the highs and the setbacks. If you’re going through a setback right now, my advice is simple: stay patient, trust the process, and keep showing up. A year can change everything. What felt impossible today might be your comeback story tomorrow. #run #running #athlete #runhappy #mindset
