At 14, I spent 8 weeks kicking at every practice, not by choice, but because my shoulder hurt too much to pull. I thought it was just “overuse.” But it wasn’t. It was one tiny trigger point locking up my mobility and shutting down the muscles I needed for a strong stroke. Nobody checked it. Nobody released it. So every set I swam only made the problem worse. When I finally learned how to release that trigger point, and keep it from coming back, everything changed.
