GOIf you ship with UPS, you need to know that they will not reimburse you if you drop your package off at The UPS Store. UPS encourages small businesses to trust The UPS Store with their needs, but, as I have learned through this experience, the UPS Store is not allowed to handle packages valued over $1,000. I paid UPS to declare my package as high value, but when I took it to The UPS Store, UPS claims I voided any declared value over $1,000.
UPS lost my package. It was not misdelivered, it is gone. It was lost in a different state after The UPS Store was no longer involved. Even still, it is worth noting that the UPS Store did not inform me of their policy when they took my package. It was apparently my sole responsibility to know this information. I didn’t find that relevant fine print.
Somehow, UPS considers my failure here to be the worst one, so they are forcing my small business to pay for the majority of the cost of the item THAT THEY LOST.
Because I dropped it off at the wrong store in a different state than where they lost it.
After more than two months of pushing them to locate this painting and one month of trying to be fully reimbursed, they have stopped answering my messages and calls. They have not responded to me in over three weeks.
What now?
