I like to train traps twice a week. Every once in a while, about once every three or four weeks, I’ll throw in free-motion cable shrugs with independent handles. I max out the stack, and even if the weight is lighter than what I’m used to, I make it harder by focusing on two to three second holds at the top. When the weight isn’t heavy enough, time under tension becomes the weapon. I’m squeezing every rep, owning the contraction, and forcing the traps to work harder through control, not momentum. Six hard working sets of 10 to 12 reps like this will light them up in a different way. Throwing movements like this in once in a while helps improve mind-muscle connection, builds deeper contraction strength, and can spark new growth by attacking the muscle from a different angle. Heavy weight builds size, but controlled tension builds quality, density, and longevity in your training. Stay hungry and train with intent. #TrapTraining #TimeUnderTension #MindMuscleConnection #SmartTraining #FeedMeMore
