Hitting all the major muscles in the upper body - all you need is some challenging dumbbells and work for 45/60 seconds per exercise and go for 2/3 rounds depending on time 💪🏻 Pick a challenging weight for you - by the end of the time working you should have to take a rest 🥵 The breakdown ⬇️ 💪🏻 Arnold press Bring the weights ‘out and up’ before returning - don’t drop the elbow back to the body, keep the shoulders engaged and make the movement smooth & controlled 👌🏻 💪🏻 Narrow row to wide row Keep the back flat and glutes tight - protect your lower back!! For the narrow row tuck the elbows keeping them close to the body and then turn them out to a T shape for the wide row, core locked in all the time! 💪🏻 Constantly moving hammer curl Keep the elbows tucked into the sides and as one weight lifts the other comes down - don’t swing them really squeeeeeze the bicep! 💪🏻 Half around the worlds with hold The key here is core locked in - soften the knees if you need to and avoid an arch in the lower back. I get asked about strength training all the time, and when it comes to becoming a faster runner & preventing injuries - strength training truly is key 🗝️ My favorite upper body exercises ⬇️ 1. Squat to overhead press 2. Bent over row 3. Single arm shoulder press 4. Tricep extensions 5. Bent elbow lateral raise 6. Hammer curls 7. Push ups 8. Plank up downs Bonus: pull-ups ⚡️ My only other exercise not shown here that I love is pull-ups, which I’ll tend to throw in a few every time I hit the gym.
