🌟 Impact Series: Part 2 — The Work Isn’t Done 🌟 “Their symptoms have not been relieved.” For researchers, this reality is a powerful reminder that a diagnosis alone is not always the end of the story. Many individuals in the undiagnosed and ultra-rare community continue to live with unresolved symptoms, unanswered questions, and limited treatment options. Your support helps advance research, collaboration, and patient navigation that push beyond diagnosis and toward understanding, care, and meaningful progress. 💜 Support the research that continues after the answers begin. 🟢 Donate: https://givebutter.com/fundUDNF #UDNF #ImpactSeries #RareDiseaseResearch #UndiagnosedDiseases #Hope4Diagnosis

Clinical trials aren’t treatments: they’re experiments designed to test a hypothesis and help us learn. Edward reminds us that while hope is important, it’s just as crucial to manage expectations. A trial may or may not help an individual patient, but every participant moves the science forward for the whole community. #ClinicalTrials #RareDisease #RareDiseaseWeek

One of the greatest joys of this work is watching our patients grow up. 💙 To see young children become adults, building lives, chasing dreams, creating purpose... That is something that didn’t always feel possible in the early days of this journey. Progress in research changes more than data points. It changes timelines. It changes expectations. It gives families space to imagine futures that once felt uncertain. To be part of that progress, and to witness those outcomes firsthand, is a privilege we don’t take lightly. This is why we keep going. #raredisease #wolframsyndrome #clinicaltrials #snowfoundation

The "Light" and the "Nightmare": Accessing Clinical Trials 💡📉 There is a unique kind of heartbreak in seeing a drug that works in a medical journal but can't be found in your local clinic. For rare mutations, clinical trials are often the only way to access the most effective treatments. But once you find that "source of light," you're faced with the logistical nightmare of eligibility, travel, and red tape. 🗺️ It’s a Pandora's box of paperwork and geography. We need to bridge the gap between discovery and access so that "promising data" becomes "available medicine" for everyone, no matter where they live. 🛡️✨ #crackingcancer #ClinicalTrials #PatientAccess #RareDisease Support ➡️ Giving.CU.EDU/CrackingCancer 🔗https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/navigating-the-complexity-of-clinical-trials-with/id1797639992?i=1000748364880

We’ve officially launched a new Brain Tumour Research Centre of Excellence at the @uniofnottingham! 💛 Patients and families stood shoulder-to-shoulder with scientists, politicians and civic leaders to mark this powerful moment of progress and hope. Backed by £2.6 million of supporter-funded investment, the Centre will focus on glioblastoma the deadliest adult brain cancer, with an average prognosis of just 12–18 months. Professor Ruman Rahman, Principal Investigator, said: “Glioblastoma devastates lives. Through this Centre, we are determined to change the story for patients.” Our CEO, Dan Knowles, said: "This Centre represents exactly what our supporters’ fundraising makes possible, world-class research with a clear focus on improving outcomes for patients." #BrainTumourResearch #TogetherWeWillFindACure #Glioblastoma #Nottingham

Fighting a rare brain tumour! 💛 35-year-old Shane Crommer, lived an active life with his wife Laura and son Elijah when symptoms like fatigue, headaches and vision changes began. After months of misdiagnosis, scans revealed multiple aggressive brain tumours, a rare diffuse midline glioma. Shane has completed 30 sessions of radiotherapy and is now being assessed for a clinical trial with an experimental drug. Through it all, he’s determined to raise awareness and support the launch of our sixth Brain Tumour Research Centre of Excellence at the @uniofnottingham. Shane’s advice: “If something doesn’t feel right, speak up. Trust those close to you and ask questions. Brain tumours don’t discriminate families deserve better options, better treatments, and better hope.” #BrainTumourResearch #TogetherWeWillFindACure #RareCancerAwareness
