Forget what you know about banks. Aave is redefining what’s possible with money. No CEOs, no vaults, just pure protocol running billions across blockchains, 24/7. This isn’t “crypto hype”, it’s one of the largest “banks” on earth, and most people have never even heard of it. Disclaimer: This Reel is for informational purposes only. Our word of the week at SFPOC is AAVE — African American Vernacular English. AAVE is a unique and expressive dialect deeply rooted in Black history and culture. It’s not “incorrect English” or “ghetto” it’s a valid linguistic form that carries identity, creativity, and community. With recent conversations happening online, we want to spotlight the importance of understanding and respecting AAVE for what it truly is. At SFPOC, we educate, advocate, and create space for dialogue that challenges stereotypes and celebrates language as a powerful part of our shared culture. 💬✊🏽 #SFPOC #AAVE #WordOfTheWeek #LanguageMatters #CulturalAwareness #BlackCulture #RepresentationMatters #NotGhetto #AdvocatingForChange #CommunityAndIdentity

Happy AAC awareness month!😊🗣️💬📱 AAC means: Augmentative and Alternative Communication. Which is all the ways we communicate other than speech. AAC is a very broad range of techniques and tools that add and/or replace someone’s speech. AAC is used by non-disabled people believe it or not! More info to come! But when we are talking about high tech AAC (what I’m using in this video) it is usually used when someone can’t speak at all or can’t fully reach their potential without supplemental communication aids. There are many reasons why this may be. This month and every month we should raise AAC users voices, educate and continue to help everyone have a voice. Also acknowledge it’s really bloody difficult sometimes have communication difficulties! This month I have a few posts and reels coming which I’m quite proud of 😁watch out! Oh also, for anyone confused “Ey up” is an informal Yorkshire greeting…😂 Lots of love Evie 💗⭐️ xx [Video Description: A 35 second long video that has multiple short clips mixed together. It starts with Evie, a white young female wheelchair user outdoors looking happy. There is a pink tile that says ‘Happy AAC awareness month :)’. There is an animated icon of a communication grid to the right. Then it shows her inside, smiling but looking more concentrated. She uses her AAC device/communication aid to speak her messages which can be heard in the video. The communication aid is a black iPad held onto her wheelchair by a silver arm. She also uses a black stylus with a gripping aid on.] #AAC #AugmentativeandAlternativeCommunication AACAwareness #AACAwarenessMonth #CommunicationAid #AssistiveTechnology #Accessibility #Inclusion #Disability #Disabled #Speaking #Verbal #SemiSpeaking #SemiVerbal #NonSpeaking #NonVerbal #MinimallyVerbal #SelectiveMutism #Autism #DownSyndrome #LearningDisability #CerebralPalsy #MuscularDystrophy #BrainInjury #NeurologicalDisorders #Apraxia #Aphasia #Dysarthria #LanguageDisorder #ArticulationDisorder @1voiceaac @comm.matters @speechandlanguk @afasic.charity @tobii_dynavox @tobii_dynavox_uk

AAVE (African American Vernacular English) ist eine von Schwarzen Communities geprägte Sprachvariante aus den USA. Ich sage nicht, dass ihr das nicht benutzen dürft. Aber ist euch bewusst, dass dieselben Worte bei Schwarzen Menschen oft als „assi“ oder „ungebildet“ gelten – und bei Weißen plötzlich als cool und edgy? #slay #clockit #period #sis #aave

Have you heard of AAVE?! African American Vernacular English (AAVE) is a variety of American English spoken by many Black people in America. It is a distinct dialect with its own unique grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary. Also known as Black English, Ebonics, or African American Language, AAVE is primarily spoken in informal and casual settings. The origins of AAVE are rooted in the history of slavery in the United States and are a subject of ongoing debate among linguists. The dialect has strong historical ties to the English dialects spoken in the Southern United States, where enslaved Africans were concentrated. There are two primary theories regarding its development: • The Dialect Perspective This theory suggests that AAVE developed from the contact between enslaved Africans and English-speaking settlers, particularly indentured servants, in the Southern colonies. It posits that AAVE has always been a dialect of English, originating from the nonstandard English varieties of that era. The similarities between AAVE and Southern White Vernacular English support this view. • The Creolist Perspective This hypothesis argues that AAVE originated from a creole language that developed from contact between speakers of West African languages and English speakers. According to this view, enslaved people from different linguistic backgrounds developed a simplified pidgin English to communicate, which later evolved into a more complex creole language. Some linguists believe that AAVE shares many characteristics with African creole. 🎥: @howeverrcomma
