#adhd #adhdcommunity #adhdcheck #mentalsundhed #add #detblirgodtigen #adhdvoksen #psykisksårbar

As a psychologist with ADHD, yes, it still happens. Even with all the tools. For me, RSD creeps in quietly: 💬 A message I overthink 📅 A cancelled session that feels personal 📉 Low engagement that spirals into “I’m not good enough” 🫣 or me thinking “You’re too much” It doesn’t matter if the rejection is real or imagined, my nervous system reacts like it is real 🙉 Here’s what actually helps me when it hits: ✨ Pause & Name it – “This is RSD. It feels real, but it’s my brain protecting me.” 💧 Regulate – I breathe. Move. Drink water. Nothing fancy, just reset. 🧾 Reality check – “What else could be true here?” I challenge the spiral. 📲 Reach out – I text someone safe. Not for solutions, just to feel less alone. Or I briefly step away from the situation. 🕯️ Re-enter gently – I don’t force productivity. I soften my way back into what ever I was doing. ADHD doesn’t mean I’m broken. It means I feel deeply, and that deserves compassion 💛 If you’ve ever thought, “Why am I like this?” after what feels like a tiny moment… I see you. You’re not too much. You’re not alone. 💚 This is also a topic we cover in my executive function group coaching. As this is a experience many of us ADHD‘ers experience. If you are looking for a community that gets it while learning strategies to help yourself comment „COMMUNITY“ and I can send you more info 😊 #RSD #RejectionSensitiveDysphoria #ADHDLife #ADHDTherapist #NeurodivergentSupport #MentalHealthAwareness #ADHDCoach #EmotionalRegulation #ADHDWomen #adhdcoaching

If learning has ever felt heavy or overwhelming, this is why. A neurodivergent brain doesn’t struggle with intelligence — it struggles with prioritisation. The Pareto Principle helped me stop trying to learn everything at once and start learning what actually matters. How I apply it: 1. Map first (no learning yet) I scan the material just to see what’s in there, how it’s organised, and what ideas keep repeating. No rereading. No deep notes. 2. Find meaning (this is where Pareto happens) I ask which ideas carry the most weight, what everything seems to revolve around, and what I can safely ignore for now. 3. Understand last (slow down here) Only then do I reread, practice, and explain it simply — because now it actually sticks. I still read everything. I just don’t try to learn everything. #adhd #adhdbrain #neurodivergent #paretoprinciple

And how you can help 👇 1. Give us an imminent deadline to work to. 2. Remind us that you’ll love us even if we’re not perfect. 3. Break down large tasks into smaller steps and create visible lists we can work through. 4. Body double us to get us started or keep us on task. No matter what you do, please be kind and don’t assume we’re lazy. Often we really want to make progress and are working hard, even if it’s not obvious to you! Send this to someone who might benefit from understanding ADHD brains better. And share your best tips for getting us started in the comments. #adhd #adhdwomen #neurodivergent #adhdawareness
