Keep Your Spine Neutral, Avoid Rounding Your Back Keep your chest up, engage your core, and maintain a neutral spine. Avoid rounding your back or shrugging your shoulders, as this can reduce lat engagement and lead to compensations that may strain your shoulders. 4.
