Stop letting a bulging disc diagnosis ruin your life 👇 Here are 5 evidence-based truths most people never hear: 1. Bulging discs are normal — even in pain-free people Studies show 30% of 20-year-olds and 84% of 80-year-olds have disc bulges on MRI with ZERO symptoms. A bulge doesn’t mean you’re broken. 2. Most bulging discs heal on their own Research shows the majority of disc herniations resorb (shrink) naturally over time — your body is smarter than you think. 3. Your MRI doesn’t predict your pain The size of a bulge has almost no correlation with how much pain you feel. Some massive bulges = no pain. Some tiny ones = agony. Context matters. 4. Movement is medicine — not the enemy Bed rest makes disc problems worse. Controlled movement and exercise speed up recovery and reduce fear around your spine. 5. Fear and stress amplify disc pain The nervous system plays a huge role. When you’re terrified of your diagnosis, your brain literally turns up the pain signal. Your disc bulge isn’t a life sentence. It’s a chapter. 💾 SAVE this — you’ll want to read it again #📲 SHARE with someone who’s been scared by their MRI 🎯 FOLLOW for more truths that help you move forward Drop a “🧠” if this changed how you see your spine #chiropractor #physiotherapy #bulgingdisc #backpain

Avoiding load to the spine will only decondition your spine. The goal of a proper rehab plan is to gradually increase your ability to handle more load over time. “Loading the spine” doesn’t just mean putting a bar behind your back and squatting. The spine will take load with any activity that requires you to be upright. Because gravity is constantly pulling your body mass downward. Your ability to tolerate this load will only be improved when you do the necessary things that will increase your bodies capacity to handle that load. . . . #herniateddisc #bulgingdisc #discherniation #backpaintips #sciaticarelief

“We’re not stretching the back… we’re creating space inside the spine.” This treatment is called Spinal Decompression Therapy. It’s commonly used in physiotherapy for people suffering from disc bulge, disc herniation, sciatica, nerve compression, and chronic lower back pain. Between each vertebra in your spine lies an intervertebral disc that acts like a shock absorber. When these discs become compressed, bulged, or irritated, they can press on nearby nerves and cause symptoms like: • lower back pain • leg pain or sciatica • numbness or tingling • stiffness in the spine Spinal decompression therapy works by gently and precisely unloading the spine. The machine applies controlled traction forces that slightly separate the vertebrae, which helps to: ✔ reduce pressure on spinal discs ✔ relieve nerve compression ✔ improve disc hydration and nutrition ✔ decrease muscle guarding around the spine ✔ improve mobility and spinal alignment This creates a negative pressure effect inside the disc, which can help the bulging disc move away from the irritated nerve. Many patients feel gradual relief in pain, stiffness, and nerve symptoms when decompression is combined with targeted physiotherapy exercises and movement correction. But remember: Spinal decompression is not a standalone cure. The best results come when it’s combined with strengthening, mobility training, and posture correction. Because pain relief is temporary… but movement correction creates long-term recovery. My chiropractor: 8 weeks of adjustments. Pain relief lasted a few days. Then worse. My physical therapist: 4 weeks of "strengthen and stretch." Every aggressive stretch aggravated the bulge. Left sessions in MORE pain than I arrived. My epidural: 2 weeks of relief. Then sciatica roared back like it never happened. I was 70 years old using a walker to get to the bathroom. My wife had to help me put on my socks. I was out of options. All three were treating the SYMPTOM, not the actual problem. A bulging disc doesn't heal because someone adjusts your spine, stretches aggressively, or numbs the nerve. It heals when your body REPAIRS the connective tissue. My specialists were brilliant. But they were trained to manage pain, not activate natural healing cells. Here's what my body actually needed: Hydration: 3–5 oz water every 30 min with quality electrolytes (disc cells are 80% water—dehydration causes compression) Magnesium glycinate: 200mg daily (muscle relaxation + nerve relief) Copper: 2mg daily with food (signals collagen production in the bulging disc) Daily movement: Dead bug 10 reps per side, knee-to-chest 30 sec per leg, figure four (lie on back, cross ankle over opposite knee, pull thigh toward chest, hold 30 sec, 3x each side) I tried sourcing these separately. Amazon magnesium. Amazon copper. Amazon electrolytes. Most supplements are synthetic or cut with fillers. Your body can't absorb them. You could waste money on synthetic versions that never help activate your own body's healing cells. One thing was missing: A phototherapy patch worn 12 hours daily. Light frequencies that activate healing cells in your body at the cellular level. A bulging disc needs REPAIR—not adjustment, aggressive stretching, or numbing injections. 30 days: My back decompressed. No more walker. 60 days : Mowing the lawn and doing chores again. 120 days: Sciatica gone. Your specialists recommend what they know. None of them activate the repair signal your cells need to rebuild connective tissue. The phototherapy patch does what your specialists couldn't: It helps your body to heal itself. Comment "PATCH" if you're done with bandaids.

💥Have a Herniated Disc?💥 ⭐️As you know, back pain is all too common. But maybe you don’t know that bulging and herniated discs are just as common. ⭐️Herniated discs occur most often in the lower back. In many cases, they cause no symptoms and require no treatment. On the other hand, others with herniated discs may experience pain and have numbness or tingling down the back of the legs (sciatic nerve). ⭐️Most people who have low back pain, have a directional preference. 🔥***THIS POST is for those who have pain OR nerve symptoms down the back of the leg when bending forward, sitting, driving, etc. These folks prefer to stand, walk, lay on their stomachs and arching backwards feels good to them.🔥 ⭐️For these people we want to start addressing the symptoms by doing lumbar extension movements. Basically we want to work within what they can tolerate in early stages and begin build their confidence, tissue capacity and overall work capacity then eventually adding back in those Flexion based movements. ↪️ Do NOT lay in bed, do NOT stop moving. Move as much or as little as you can, but just keep MOVING! ⭐️Here’s a progression to help centralize the pain (decrease the numbness and tingling down the legs) and progress to building tissue tolerance and overall work capacity: 1️⃣Prone Press Up 2️⃣Scorpion Kick overs 3️⃣Sciatic Nerve Flossing 4️⃣Bird Dog with Weight 5️⃣Knee Propped SL RDL 6️⃣Inverted Chinese plank 📣Disclaimer: There are many causes on LBP (low back pain), and many times Low Back pain is multifactorial which means it’s not black and white and therefore you may not fully fit into either categories I have listed in this post. 📣When in doubt, it’s always a good idea to get checked out by a healthcare provider you trust! ✅ Normal disc: healthy and in place ⚠️ Bulge: slightly pushed out 🚨 Herniation: the inner gel breaks through 🔥 Extrusion: the disc material fully escapes into the nerve canal That’s why this patient couldn’t sleep, walk, or feel his thigh. Pressure on nerves = real pain. The good news? There are non-surgical ways to create space and heal. #HerniatedDisc #BulgingDisc #SciaticaPain #SpinalDecompression #BackPainRelief

😣 Back or neck pain? It might be your discs. Millions suffer daily — here’s the simple breakdown of common spinal disc problems 👇 1. Degenerated Disc (Degenerative Disc Disease) Discs lose water and cushioning with age. They become drier and less flexible. It’s normal wear & tear — many people feel nothing! 2. Bulging Disc The outer layer weakens and bulges out like a tire under pressure. The gel stays inside. Often mild or symptom-free. 3. Herniated Disc (Slipped/Ruptured) A tear lets the soft inner gel leak out and pinch nerves. This commonly causes sciatica — shooting pain down the leg or arm, plus numbness, tingling, or weakness. 4. Thinning Disc Disc height shrinks over time, making the spine less stable and putting extra pressure on nerves or joints. 5. Disc Degeneration with Osteophyte Formation Advanced wear where bone spurs (osteophytes) grow to stabilize the area. These spurs can press on nerves and cause stiffness or chronic pain. Key Symptoms: • Constant back/neck ache • Radiating pain to arms or legs • Numbness, tingling, weakness Good news: Most improve without surgery with physical therapy, core strength, better posture, and lifestyle changes. If pain is severe, radiates strongly, or you notice weakness/bowel-bladder issues — see a spine specialist right away. Not every disc change hurts — many are normal aging seen on MRI. #BackPain #HerniatedDisc #DegenerativeDisc #BulgingDisc #sciaticarelief
