DACHEST DAY HACK: Stop Using Your Shoulders on Cable Crossovers!
๐คฏ Are your shoulders tired after cable flies, but your chest isn't?
The Cable Crossover is arguably the best exercise for hitting the sternal (lower) head of your chest, but if you flare your arms out too wide or use too much weight, you end up engaging your front delts instead of your pecs.
Watch to see the correct form that ensures maximum chest contraction:
Keep a Fixed, Slight Bend: Maintain a slight, fixed bend in your elbow throughout the entire movement. Don't let your arms straighten or your elbows bend more.
Focus on the Squeeze: The movement is about bringing your hands together and squeezing your chest muscles, not just moving the weight. Think about "hugging a tree."
Correct Angle: The High-to-Low position shown here is perfect for isolating the lower chest. Make sure the cables are set above your shoulders.
