I had my eye on Kyle since seeing her perform in an off broadway stageplay @hamlet_in_harlem . She was a #standout that I knew I’d work with. I later #cast her in another feature. And I was happily surprised when while putting together a shortlist for my own casting director on the #dance #thriller #drama film I was hired to direct (Midnight Hustle) - the advanced skill search option on my #casting platform brought her back to me, front and center, as an actor that was also a #dancer #enpointe #ballerina . I always stress to actors to keep their profiles up to date and specific. I am always excited to share #greatactors with the world. Wait til you see Kyle set the screen ablaze as Nadia - the #leadrole in #MidnightHustle - Stay tuned for more #auditions that book.

ZOOM CALLBACK BTS! Okay if yall remember I deeply felt I had this role after the audition. The casting director was so responsive and gave great feedback - I availed it the day after this callback ( which means you’re on hold for the job and either you book or get released from it ) I’ve done over at least two hundred of these auditions now and have a good handle on knowing when I get something or not … but this one. This one was the first time I was like no this is 100% my role. For the first audition, I wore a pink blazer because the casting gave “office casual fun, dress in their own style :)” as the wardrobe note and then for the callback I wore this blue blazer because I wanted to physically show casting and the directors that I AM the zoom narrator by wearing the brand color. The pink blazer sort of became the visual for the character because that’s what wardrobe ended up styling me in for set -a bunch of beautiful, bright blazers. There are so many waves and unpredictability of this industry and this acting profession but then tucked in are really sweet, serendipitous, magical moments like this that make all the crazy and unpredictable so worth it! #actorslife #callback #actorsofinstagram #madetocreate
