There have been no studies that have been able to show that poor posture leads to pain, tightness, and discomfort. It is far more likely the fact that you’ve been sitting for 4 to 5 to 6 hours that is the cause of your pain or discomfort.
There’s plenty of studies to show that sedentary behaviour leads to discomfort, but there is not one single, reliable study that has been able to show that poor posture is the cause.
Ways to avoid pain and discomfort while working:
✨ Find ways to get up out of your chair every 30 minutes
✨Alternate between a standing and sitting desk
✨Change body positions often
✨Vary the chairs you sit on
So whether you’re sitting for 3 hours in bad posture or 3 hours in good posture you’re likely to develop the same pain and discomfort simply because you are sitting for 3 hours, not because your posture is bad.
