Research suggests that both of these compounds can speed up metabolism. Catechin can help to break down excess fat, while both catechin and caffeine can increase the amount of energy the body uses. ๐Ÿต STRESS RELIEF-green tea is a source of the amino acid L-theanine, which has a relaxing effect; it does this by increasing mood-enhancing brain chemicals including GABA, dopamine and serotonin. The beneficial polyphenols of green tea may also help slow the effects of aging on the brain. ๐Ÿต INFLAMMATION- Green tea contains higher levels of natural antioxidants in the form of EGCG.
