Having studied architecture, I've become good at making rainbows model-sized and increasing the model-sized spectrum - in other words, changing the scale.

I was really surprised when my Niji Crystal pavilion appeared in New York's High Line Park. My work was imitated and built as an architectural model. All of my works began with the CD as a reflective material. So rotation, or the movement melody of light, became an important motif. Then I wanted to make light into something like music or a musical instrument. And I hope that I can re-edit the light using musical techniques as a restarting point.

But there is a lot to think about when it comes to remixing without a name.

PH💡 A glass prism is a transparent object, typically made of glass, with flat, polished surfaces that refract (bend) light as it passes through. It has a specific geometric shape, often with a triangular cross-section, and when white light enters, it separates into its constituent colors to form a spectrum, a phenomenon called dispersion. This happens because different colors of light bend at slightly different angles as they pass through the glass.

Почему же диск становится радужным? На компакт-диске нанесено много параллельных дорожек. Расстояние между дорожками на диске сопоставимо с длиной волны света (1,6 микрона на CD, 0,7 микрона на DVD). You can put on a beautiful show for children by taking a candle and a CD or DVD. Light a candle and see how the light from the fire turns into a rainbow on the disc.
Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet. In science, this is called a spectrum.
Why does the disc become rainbow-colored? There are many parallel tracks on the compact disc. The distance between the tracks on the disc is comparable to the wavelength of light (1.6 microns on a CD, 0.7 microns on a DVD). This system resembles the so-called diffraction grating and, like it, decomposes white light falling on the surface of the disc into the colors of the spectrum. We see them as the colors of the rainbow.
