This is why governance and accountability matter as much as labels. At the same time, the non profit model itself is not the problem. Many world class institutions use it successfully by reinvesting surpluses into research, faculty, scholarships, student facilities, and long term academic quality. When run ethically, the model can create stronger educational ecosystems instead of focusing only on short term returns. The real debate is not profit vs non profit. It is about honesty, transparency, and outcomes. Whether an institution is for profit or non profit, students care most about quality education, fair pricing, better opportunities, and trust in the system.
