What do you get out of this? 1. A functionally strong back (not just huge “lats”) 2. Hingeing power (from working your glutes) 3. Quad workout from holding the squatted position 4. Correct shoulder function (because you’re strengthening all the muscles at the rear of the shoulder) 5. An arm and grip workout (mainly the Brachioradialis and brachialis) (Hit ❤️ if that sounds good to you!) This isn’t just a lift and hold for 15 seconds (yielding isometric) With the weight pressed against your belly you try to physically pull it through yourself! That gives you an overcoming isometric exercise. Do this with something heavy and your heart will soon be pumping hard as well! This is exercise 4 in the base workout I do at 53. I do that workout (or one of the variations) for 25 mins, 3 x a week and nothing else. It’s for strength, physique, cardio endurance and core strength.
