In mathematics, the exponential function is the unique real function which maps zero to one and has a derivative equal to its value. The exponential of a variable x is denoted exp(x) or eˣ, with the two notations used interchangeably. It is called exponential because its argument can be seen as an exponent to which a constant number e ≈ 2.718, the base, is raised. There are several other definitions of the exponential function, which are all equivalent although being of very different nature. In mathematics, the Taylor series or Taylor expansion of a function is an infinite sum of terms that are expressed in terms of the function's derivatives at a single point. For most common functions, the function and the sum of its Taylor series are equal near this point. Taylor series are named after Brook Taylor, who introduced them in 1715. A Taylor series is also called a Maclaurin series when 0 is the point where the derivatives are considered, after Colin Maclaurin, who made extensive use of this special case of Taylor series in the 18th century. Logarithms turn outputs back into inputs - they’re the inverse of exponentials. In this short explainer, we reflect y = 2^x in y = x, derive x = log₂(y), solve 2^x = 10, and show the change-of-base trick for your calculator. Perfect quick revision for A-Level Maths. #ALevelMaths #MathsEducation #Logarithms #ExponentialFunctions #SixthForm #MathsRevision #STEMEducation #EdexcelMaths #GCSEMaths #FurtherMaths

Parent functions are the simplest forms of functions that serve as the foundation for entire families of related functions. Each one represents a core behavior without any transformations. A linear parent function creates a straight line and shows constant change. A quadratic parent function forms a symmetrical curve that opens upward. A cubic parent function produces a smooth curve that changes direction once. An absolute value function creates a sharp V shape by turning all negative inputs positive. A square root function begins at a point and curves gently upward, showing gradual increase. An exponential function grows rapidly and always stays positive. A logarithmic function increases slowly and is only defined for positive inputs. A reciprocal function forms two mirrored curves that approach but never touch the center. Understanding these parent functions helps us recognize how more complex functions behave when they are shifted, stretched, or reflected. #sciencesubtlety #science #mathematics #explorepage #explore #fypシ #viralreels #viral #physics #chemistry #biology #sciencefacts #SciencePage #relatable #sciencedaily #reels #instagramreels #fypppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp

Euler’s formula is one of those math ideas that feels almost too perfect to be real. It says that e to the power of i times x equals cos(x) plus i times sin(x). That might sound a bit technical, but what it really does is connect three very different parts of math—exponentials, imaginary numbers, and trigonometry—all in one clean equation. It shows up all over the place, from electrical engineering to quantum physics, and helps make sense of how waves and rotations work in the complex plane. One of the coolest things about Euler’s formula is what happens when you plug in pi for x. You get e^(i * pi) + 1 = 0. Somehow, this simple equation brings together five of the most important numbers in math: e, i, pi, 1, and 0. It’s often called the most beautiful equation in mathematics, and for good reason—it’s like finding a hidden connection between totally different parts of the universe. Even people who don’t usually get excited about math are kind of blown away by how neat it is. Linear functions have a constant rate of change and graph as straight lines. Quadratic functions graph as parabolas opening upwards or downwards hential depending on their coefficients. Exponential functions grow or decay rapidly with a constant multiplicative rate of change. Sine functions are periodic, producing wave-like graphs that oscillate between a maximum and minimum value. . #math #study #mathematics #education #instagram #instagood #viral #insta #maths #treanding #reel #reels #success #physics #viralreel #fyp
