The UK Government just updated its travel advice and support details for UK nationals and residents in the Middle East, including the United Arab Emirates and other countries. Here’s what you need to know 👇 📌 1. Tell the UK Government You’re In UAE If you are a British national, resident, or dual citizen currently in the UAE, you can now register your presence with the UK authorities through the official portal. This helps the UK Government contact you in case of emergencies, updates or travel alerts. (Source: FCDO register.service.csd.fcdo.gov.uk) 📌 2. Updated Travel Advice for the Region The UK Foreign Office has refreshed its travel advice for several countries in the Middle East — covering security, local laws, safety guidance, and entry requirements. (Source: gov.uk travel advice updates) 📌 3. Why This Matters This update is not just about visas — it’s about safety, info sharing, and making sure you’re accounted for when abroad. 📌 4. What You Should Do • Register with the UK Government if you’re currently in the UAE • Check gov.uk travel advice before travel or any long stays • Review local entry requirements, safety alerts and health guidance Keeping your status registered makes it easier for the British Government to assist you if anything happens while you’re overseas. If you’re planning to fly to the UK for studies or return home amid the current Middle East conflict, you must check official guidance, travel plans are being affected right now. 👇🏻 The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) now advises against all but essential travel to the United Arab Emirates, and warns there is a heightened risk of regional tension that could disrupt travel, cause airport closures or sudden changes in air routes. If you’re in, or planning to travel through, this region, make sure you read the current FCDO advice before booking anything. For multiple countries across the Middle East (including Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Israel, Palestine), the UK has activated a ‘Register Your Presence’ portal so travellers can receive direct updates and alerts from the government on safety, travel changes, and if needed, evacuation information. In some cases, authorities are recommending that British nationals shelter in place and avoid all travel, following local guidance to stay safe. 📍 Important official travel tips: • Follow the UK government’s latest travel advice pages before booking or flying. • If you’re already in a region with warnings, register your presence with the UK government for alerts and support. • Travel insurance may not cover your trip if you travel against official advice. • Always follow local authorities’ instructions for your safety. - Stay updated. Plan safely. The UAE said it will cover hotel and meal costs for over 20,000 stranded passengers after conflict-linked airspace closures across the region. Major hubs like Dubai and Abu Dhabi faced severe restrictions as airlines halted departures and rerouted flights. Hotels were told to let affected guests extend stays at the original rate, with Abu Dhabi stepping in to cover extensions directly in cases. The goal is to keep travelers stable while the network untangles. #Travel #Aviation #AirspaceClosures #PassengerSupport #UAE
