These are the first things I'd do if I was trying to get pregnant (again): 1️⃣ Start tracking your cycle And I don't mean some generic app or ovulation tests can only measure the surge of the LH hormone but can't tell whether ovulation happened. I mean start taking your basal body temperature and observe cervical mucus. In this way, after two or three cycles you'll be able to: 🔅Tell when your fertile window opens 🔅Know 100% that and when ovulation happened 🔅Whether there are some hormonal imbalances that need special attention 2️⃣ Show extra love to progesterone It is the hormone that supports implantation and supports a pregnancy. How to know you are not making enough? 🚩 luteal phase shorter than 12 days 🚩 horrible PMS 🚩 blood test (make sure to time the test correctly, a week after ovulation) And how to support it? 🔅 Sleep in dark, cold room 🔅 Natural light soon after getting up 🔅 vit C, B6, zinc, magnesium, evening primrose oil 🔅 stress management, yoga, meditation, deep breaths 3️⃣ Pay attention to your feelings and emotions You don't want to carry traumas and emotional baggages, past relationships into your pregnancy. Make sure to make emotional space for your baby alongside the physical preparation. How to do that? 🔅 Talk to your partner (as a side effect, it can deepen your relationship) 🔅 Therapy 🔅 Acupuncture to let go of old stuck energy 🔅 Meditation, in yoga focus on hip and chest openers Were these tips helpful? If I wanted to get pregnant after 35, and it was taking longer than expected- this is the exact plan I would follow: 1. Detox- I would do a 90 day detox, if possible, trying to be very mindful about what I place in, on and around my body. I would definitely focus on foods that are known to affect fertility after 35. That’s why I believe we should cut these out or limit severely if 30 or older: caffeine, sugar, alcohol, soy, non-organic grains, & xenoestrogens. I’d also use a sauna 3x a week to speed up my progress. 2. Replenish- “fill up again” this step is all about adding a good prenatal vitamin. We want one with folate, not folic acid. It’s also important to take a fish oil, vitamin D with K2 for added benefits, and Coq10 for its egg protective properties. I’d also take a glutathione for antioxidant status and a binder to soak up toxins. 3. Nourish- bring in all the healthy foods! Bone broth, fatty fish, grass fed beef, fermented foods, eggs, & leafy greens! I’d eat 100 grams of animal protein a day and drink broth at least 4x a week. I’d choose berries and dark root vegetables like beets and sweet potatoes that help progesterone and blood flow to the uterus. 4. I’d track my cycle like a freaking hawk. Taking my bbt every morning and looking for fertile window signals like cm and mild cramps. 5. Lab work: 5 Important Lab Tests: Is get a full thyroid panel, vitamin D, hemoglobin A1C, homocysteine, glutathione and iron status Hope this was helpful, follow for more ways to optimize fertility! #fertility #ttc #fertilitysupport #fertilitynutrition #fertilitycoach

I know this may ruffle some feathers, so let me start with my disclaimer: Many women are incredible mothers in their 20s. I know some, and I mean it sincerely. But also… many women will tell you it wasn’t easy back then. They were still finding themselves. Still learning. Still growing. And when they became mothers later in life… they showed up differently. More grounded. More patient. More ready. Experience is a teacher you can’t rush. And it changes how you mother. So if you’re here… pregnant, trying, or becoming a mom after 40… Don’t let anyone tell you you’re “too late” or somehow less equipped. You’re not behind. You’re prepared. And for many of us… this version of motherhood? It’s exactly the one we were meant for. ✨ If you’re on your journey to motherhood after 40, you don’t have to do this alone. Trying to conceive? Couples can do this together. Gentle daily movement may help support pelvic circulation and overall reproductive health. Many patients ask what they can do at home to support fertility, and simple daily habits can make a difference. Try this gentle exercise for about a minute a day and save it to practice later. #fertilityottawa #ttccommunity #fertilitysupport #fertilityacupuncture #ttctips

Men: here’s the rule no one talks about 👇🏼 If she’s expected to spend 9 months growing a baby… You can spend 9 months preparing your body to create one. Because male health before conception doesn’t just affect sperm count. ➖It affects whether pregnancy happens at all. ➖It affects miscarriage risk. ➖It affects pre-eclampsia. ➖It affects birth defect risk. ➖It can even influence morning sickness and your child’s long-term health. If you and your partner are trying to conceive in the next year, comment “PLAN” and we’ll help you figure out what to focus on! #malefertility #fertilityawareness #fertilitycare #fertilitytips #fertilitysupport

Many women have regular periods and still struggle to conceive. The body often gives daily signs — bloating, low energy, irregular eating patterns, constant heaviness — long before fertility is affected. Regular cycles are a good sign. But true fertility depends on how well digestion, energy levels, and internal health are functioning. Listening to your body and correcting small habits can make a big difference. Save this if it felt relatable 🤍 Want to work on these body signs with the right nutrition? Fresh guava leaves just arrived 🍃Available for purchase on our website. Link in bio 💚 Traditionally used across African, Caribbean, Southeast Asian & Latin cultures, guava leaves have long been valued as a powerful botanical for internal balance & women’s wellness. Guava leaves have been traditionally used to support: • Hormonal balance • Fertility support (sperm motility) • Healthy ovulation patterns • Reducing excessive menstrual bleeding • Uterine tone • Blood sugar regulation • Digestive support & microbial balance • Anti-inflammatory response • Skin clarity (internally & topically) • Hair & scalp health (as a rinse) Rich in quercetin, tannins, and powerful polyphenols, guava leaf is known for its astringent, antioxidant & antimicrobial properties. In traditional practice, it’s often prepared as a tea, decoction, sitz bath, or hair rinse. Ancestral wisdom knew what modern research is slowly catching up to. From root to fruit — we honor the leaves too 🍃 Stay tuned for how we’ll be using these. #SafiyahBeauty #HerbalWisdom #WomensWellness #FertilitySupport #GuavaLeaf RootedInNature

The real risk isn’t IVF. It’s going into IVF with an unprepared body. Research is still evolving. It’s not always clear whether the higher risks come from IVF itself or from the underlying issues that made conception difficult in the first place. Either way, your preparation matters. Supporting your body before IVF means addressing: → gut health → inflammation → nutrient status → mitochondrial function These directly influence how your body responds to treatment and what makes IVF more successful. #fertilitysupport #IVF #drjanelevesque #holisticfertility #infertilitysupport #naturalconception

At 28 I was told I might never have children. After losing most of my ovaries, it could have been easy to lose hope — but I didn’t. As a naturopath, I had spent years supporting women’s health, and this became part of my own journey too. I went on to have a healthy boy and girl 💖 If you’re in your 30s or 40s and feeling worried… Please know it’s not always about quantity — it’s about quality. Your journey is unique, and everyone’s path looks different. This is my personal experience only, and outcomes can vary. Always seek guidance from a qualified healthcare professional for your individual situation. Don’t lose hope xx 🤍 #fertilitysupport #womenshealth #tryingtoconceive #hormonehealth #healthypregnancy
