This exercise helps strengthen your hamstring and glute muscles, which are important for walking, balance, and controlling your leg during movement. It also improves knee bending and helps restore a more normal walking pattern after surgery. . To perform this exercise, stand upright while holding onto a stable surface such as a countertop, walker, or chair for balance. Slowly bend your surgical knee, bringing your heel up toward your buttock. As you bend your knee, gently allow your thigh to move slightly backward so your hip extends. . Lift your heel as high as you comfortably can while keeping your knees close together and your body upright. Avoid leaning forward. . Hold this position for about 3 to 5 seconds, then slowly lower your foot back down to the floor in a controlled manner. . Repeat this movement for the recommended number of repetitions. Focus on slow, controlled motion. Avoid swinging your leg or using momentum. . You should feel the muscles in the back of your thigh and hip working. Mild muscle fatigue is normal, but you should not feel sharp pain. . This exercise helps improve strength, walking control, and overall stability, supporting your safe return to normal daily activities after surgery.

She's already moving around independently, cooking, and getting used to the process. A few things she said that stood out: The first 5 days in the hospital pass fast. The real mental shift happens when physiotherapy starts at the hotel. And seeing other patients already 5 cm taller? That changes everything. She came in wanting 9 cm. After seeing her leg proportions, she decided on 8. Notice any differences? 💡 Once you find the weaker side, slowly add staggered bridges to build strength and even things out. 🧠💭 Asymmetries are normal in our bodies, but when they are too imbalanced, there can be excess force or pressure put through on one side of the body that can lead to injury or pain.
